The most interesting journey

Working for SAEDF for the past 7 years has been an interesting journey which has seen me play multi-dimensional roles as an Investment Officer, Investment manager and Fund Manager. What I love most about my job are the endless opportunities to learn something new in every project and to lead teams made up of individuals from very diverse backgrounds. My Network in Africa as well as USA and Europe has broadened over the years which has helped refine my presentation and relationship management skills at senior levels. What I am proudest of is the impact side of my work in Africa in terms of job creation and uplifting of previously disadvantaged communities and individuals. Managing my portfolio has involved a significant amount of travel into the SADC region which has been an eye opener. Africa has so much potential and there are so many opportunities to make a real difference.

Pros: A mix of interesting projects across different industries
Cons: Traveling outside the country takes time away from family
