My day at work is just as normal and my co-workers were just friendly and at time pressure mounts but we manage to absorb the pressure because of work load and deadlines. What I learned is a lot because instrumentation we move with technology because it changes time to time especially on Vega instruments i.e level transmitters,densities etc. What I enjoyed most was to work on furnace feeding bin levels because they were challenging because at times they will get false echoes and it was quite exciting when you finally get it right and what I can say is that it was challenging and exciting at the same time and the good thing was to fix the problem and to see operators happy at the control room. Truly speaking I wasn't long there but the promotion possibilities were there. Long working hours were only on maintenance day and sometimes on standby.

Pros: I was working as instrumentation mechanician and we were just started the plant and we had co-ordinators above us and maintenance supervisor above all of us and the opportunity was there if co-ordinator can go on leave or leave employment and I can act on behalf of him or get promoted.
Cons: 16 hours

Good learning curve

TC Smelter is a very good ,developing and well driven company by young innovative management .It has a very good working team which are putting safety first,cost consciousness, have integrity, take value of their employees and work collaboratively.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
