Sanlam treats me like family. They really are there for their staff whenever you need anything. I am a Personal Assistant for numerous Financial Advisors. A typical day at work would be preparing files for new potential clients for the Advisors. At least 3 files each per day. Then do follow up appointments. I look at their diaries and confirm appointments with the clients that they see that day. Then after they see them I send a courtesy email or SMS to thank the client for seeing them. I also call the call center for Sanlam for section 14's. I do cancellations and client profiles. We are 3 admin ladies in the back office working together. We work really well together. I enjoy working with our innov8 team. We all help each other where we can and I would say the most challenging part is cut off week where we have to submit cases before or on the third week of the month. Its always stressful but if we work together effectively we always end up doing great work with positive results.
Pros: Great opportunity for promotion, great people to work with
Cons: Too little pay as I am providing for my mom and niece . My dad passed away last year so its up to me and I have to pay for everything and half of my salary goes to medical aid alone so that would be the only con

Great experience
I am a PA for numerous Financial Advisors. I prepare client profiles and make sure they have the relevant documents ready in the morning when they need to go out and see clients. Extra files are made just in case. After the financial advisors sees the client I send out a courtesy email to thank the client for their time etc. First thing in the morning I confirm the meetings for the day according to their diaries and when a deal goes well we book follow up appointments and go to extra mile for the client so that they know we care about them and value them as a client. I do section 14's. I get along really well with my co workers we are like family and we motivate each other always. I would say the main thing I have learned is treating clients with the utter most respect and forming a bond with them and gaining their trust. The problem is there aren't any challenges.
Pros: Great for growth if you want to be a financial advisor
Cons: The only con is that the pay is a bit low for numerous reasons and I need something a bit more challenging
