Good company

Company very good cause it provides a lot of career opportunities. The work force team is highly competent and team work is encouraged by all. The renumeration is good.

Excellent learning curve,intelligent,problems solving and team player

10 years experience as a process controller for monitoring the plant according to plant procedures,taking of samples responsible of start-up and shutdown of plant,do inspection,problems solver.

Pros: Opportunities of promotions,safety and a good team work
Cons: Working hours,changing of shift and sharing ideas

The company is very good in that it encourages education,empowerment.

A typical day starts with an early morning meeting to review the previous day and prepare for the present day, the day is varied and involves solving day to day problems,attending meetings whether on site or off site, doing presentations, the relationship with co-workers is great but challenging to manage at times, I have learnt to be patient, to have an eye for detail, I enjoy mostly working with team mates and achieving desirable goals and moving the company forward.

Pros: The company has many opportunities if one is focused and committed.
Cons: When the team mates are not moving at the same pace to achieve the company goals,and this include when the people behaviour and the company values are not aligned.

I have experience in a chemical plant

I have experience in plant operations. I worked with a lot of equipments. Sample taking and analysing them. I also have supervisor experience and computer literate

Pros: new opportunities in a new environment
Cons: I can work shifts and overtime

Individual career chasing or development

A typical work day at Sasol on the current position I'm in in is one of the most challenging, its a fast pace environment where we package the final production with automated machines, capture it and do the necessary paperwork. Its must for us to work as a team since teamwork is imperative in all aspects and I learn everyday that working safe in a pacey environment is the way to go. Breakdowns and work load are the most challenges but teamwork makes it better for all.

Pros: Unfortunately Packline was rated model C with less promotions
Cons: 12 hours only

Great company to work for

During shutdowns there are endless meetings. The working atmosphere is conducive to constructive work ethics. Different methods of planning and forecasting is used throughout the site. The most challenging on the current project is balancing work and personal life

Pros: Good salary
Cons: Promotion is difficult
