Excellent learnig curve
Being a student practical demonstrator and biology laboratory assistant at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University comes with a lot of challenges combined with long working hours. But it is a great working places because I have a great working relationship with my co-workers, we are all committed and dedicated to our job and we have one goal in common, which is to see our students do well in their studies and practicals. Working with students has taught me patience and also adapted to working under pressure. The best part about my job is helping students with problems they encounter within the laboratories and seeing them succeed in their studies.
Pros: It offers great working opportunities and develop great social skills.
Cons: The job has long working hours and due to shortage of stuff it has a lot of work.

Good
A day to day work under normal circumstances is relaxed and one finds good relationships with co-workers. To learn more, you need to be a self-driven kind of person and eager to learn. I enjoy a good balance between work/life balance. One can have enough for own personal things and studies. The challenging thing is when your students have issues with you and decided to go SRC on your behind. and when they do not feel ready for assessments, they go convience seniors who will stand with them. having to rearrange things for no reason
Pros: More time to your personal to do list
Cons: Difficult to get permanent positions. Work unrecognised over-time

Excellent working experience
As a demonstrator I used to work with good people, we had a great relationship. I enjoyed working with students and helping them It was a great learning curve. My work after hours when I was done with my classes because it was practicals. I also enjoyed making a difference in the students lives and interacting with them. This job helped with my communication skills and interpersonal skills. It took me out of my comfort zone as I had to explain the practicals and answer questions where the students did not understand
Pros: Great opportunity for entering the working environment
Cons: Long working hours

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
It gets very hectic with Unions, collective bargaining, individual employee relations matters, facilitation and training. my relationship with co-workers is well managed. I have learned that to work with employees one needs to reduce his own stress level in order to be able to resolve workplace employee relations matters. The most challenging aspect of the job is to be able to advise management appropriately on all employee relations matters. What I enjoy the most in my area of specialization is chairing and facilitating Union Management meetings and salary negotiations.
Pros: Developing Leadership
Cons: Wiorking under immmense pressure
