Working at a coal mine as a metallurgical engineer

my day starts with me arriving at work at 5:15, where I review the previous days downtimes and short list ones that made a big impact. then i do the plant figures, showing how the plant throughput was. then is the morning meeting meeting with the plant foreman where they do the shift hand over. we identify the breakdowns that are critical to production and assign operators. after the its the mining operating systems meetings where we plan, the days production and elaborate further from the first meeting. i go do inspection on the running stream to ensure smooth production . after that i tackle the most urgent equipment/ breakdown. after that i come back to the office and do some admin work, checking our consumable stock and ordering. then now and then i do efficiency test and machine and operations optimizations

Good safety initiatives

Best ever company I have worked for incentives, treatment equally, opportunities and allowances I think they are still infront but rewards according to the job that one is doing is lacking not enough I think they need to improve.

To produce a safe and executable maintenance schedule for the execution teams. Including Reports (KPIs) updating of master data as required. Check and update of task lists to match maintenance strategy and match machine types. Stopping and staring of maintenance plans as per equipment strategy. Chairing of the various planning meetings. Part of teams developing the strategy for equipment and RCFA’s to improve equipment reliability, Risk assessments and ICAMs. Managing resources including labour and material needed. Optimizing of maintenance cost through accurate planning.
