Excellent learning curve

I always talk to the security when I am early. Greet everyone that I am passing past and greet the lady at reception. Switch on my computer go make myself coffee and chat with employees at the kitchen. After that I open my emails and check how my day will go on my outlook calendar Pull out my daily report that I update on a daily basis. Take invoice that need to be captured to the consumable stores . Issue Purchase requisitions and Purchase Orders

Excellent learning curve

Daily inspection on machines,attend to breakdowns,learnt how to go about fault finding,do weekly and 12 weekly services on cnc machines.Ensure there are spare parts available.Replace pumps such as high pressure pumps,vacuum pumps and water pumps.I work well with my co workers since i am the only woman in my team,they give me support.I enjoy hands on work,I don't mind getting my hands filled with grease and dirt.It can be challenging sometimes when i have to use power,but other than that I enjoy every minute.

Excellent learning

I have been working for this company for the past 15 years.i have worked in couple of departments with in the company. I have 6 years of leadership experience. I have studied operations management at Nmmu. And I'm currently studying quality management at Nmmu part time. I'm a hard working individual and I like challenging and I can cope understand pressure. I like leading and managing. I have a lot of responsibility as listed on my Cv. I'm looking for growth and opportunities as well as new challeges

Managing the SHE overall system of the plant, good working relationship with all levels of employees in the organisation. Challenging aspects is to persuade management buy in when is comes to deviating from the budget for SHE purposes.

Excellent learning curve in the industry

In the beginning I was abit shy,but gradually as time went on I became myself. I get to work early some days are 3am and others are 8am depending on what time I had to start my routes for travelling. I work well with my peers, I get along with both the older workers and the new incomers. I have definitely learnt from the older workers. They guided me in things which had to be done and how its normally done. I was able to show 2 of the new guys. My supervisor was on the relaxed side; he isn't interested in all the workers. He sometimes didn't even know who is doing what for the day but between us workers we would know as we planned it carefully.

Pros: Opportunity for growth and learning
Cons: Long days as I came in very early and left normal time which was 5pm or sometimes 6pm

Daily Routine

As an artisan in the automotive industry, i attend morning/startup meetings whereby we do change overs with previous shift employees, attend to breakdowns and maintenance on various machinery such as cnc's washing machines , furnaces,reverse osmosis systems, printing lines just to name a few. With the joint initiative of our team i feel we have accomplished great things wereby we have minimized so many negatives in our department and also learnt a lot from one another.All is challenging but together we can accomplish anything.
