Great platform of learning opportunities
Everyday day at work present different working experience and different learning opportunities which help develop my capacities further. It is great to work with people that challenges ones thinking capacity for the betterment of the company and co-workers. The work environment has contributed a lot to my ability to work as an individual and in a group. Because of my work environment everyday I strive to better person in terms of assisting the company to achieve it's aims and missions, the idea of not enhancing my career through studies was actually shaped up by the environment I'm exposed to at work.

Excellent leaning curve
When i started my job,i only had basic understanding of construction and building, but now i have learned how to handle projects and work with subcontractors and deliver projects on time and within allocated budget.How to handle pressure, keeping a cool head while dealing with difficulties. This is an excellent skill that i know will be useful in this position and can help me make your clients happy and willing to give you more work over and over again.

Daily responsibilities: Project management: - Represent management at site meetings etc. - Reporting on project status to directors - Liaising with professional teams on projects - Appointing / managing and controlling sub-contractors - Assisting the site managers to run projects effectively. - Quality control on site - Managing Site Foreman / Site Agents Quantity Surveying: - Preparing interim and final claims on all the projects. - Responsible for all the submissions and monitoring of project claims such as changes to project scope, re-measuring of bill of quantities items and extension of time. - Evaluating sub-contractor’s claims and final account - Manage the tendering and procurement department. - Financial reporting to Directors - Manage tender department / pricing of tenders

Cons: Work is in Gauteng and I live in the Western Cape, lots of time away from home
