Excellent learning curve with an opportunity to travel and work with different people

Excellent learning curve with an opportunity to travel and work with different people. You get to be exposed to different career paths. What do not like is they don't give people the opportunity to explore those careers. I would like to see them investing in their people.

Pros: Get to work with different people and travel.
Cons: Struggle to get contracts and call ups if you are a reserve force member.

This was a great stepping stone.

Working at the SANDF has given me the opportunity to travel around South Africa, to adapt in any environment away from my comfort zone.I have also learned the value of managing ones time since every thing in the in the work environment is based on timings. Furthermore I have learned the importance and value of integrity, loyalty and life. I have had the pleasure of working and interacting with people from different walks of life and learning their languages and cultures. The most challenging aspects about the SANDF is managing and working with what you have, basically having limited resources to execute a task at hand.

Pros: Best place to learn about ones self, your stengths and weaknesses and potential.
Cons: having limited resources

Over the years I gained a lot of experience in different fields of Secretary/PA/Receptionist

I am the Secretary of the Officer Commanding of a unit in the SANDF in Youngsfield, Cape Town. I enjoy every moment of it, although it is a very hot seat, but I like to work under pressure. My relationship with co-workers are very good. Due to my appointment I liaise daily to all the Departmental Heads.

Pros: Security
Cons: None
