Working at steers is a start in the hospitality industry and it's an excellent learning curve

Steers is an excellent learning curve in the hospitality industry as it is very challenging but fun and I love challenges. We always work as a team, helping each other with every activity in the company because team work is very important in the hospitality industry and every other company. There are different challenges like working as a Griller on a busy Friday (mostly month end) because you get a lot of orders that need to be grilled such as ribs nd u need to make sure all customers get their orders on time without burning them.I enjoy working at steers but am open for greener pastures

Pros: Great start for opportunities in the hospitality industry
Cons: Hectic working hours and disrespectful customers

Excellent communication skills ( written and verbal)

I enjoy working with customers at business environment and I enjoy mostly is cooperation with the staff, management and the Franchise managers. Team work is helping alot to cope with peek periods. The most challenging aspects at work is to work 13 hours each day at very fast pace. With the help of colleagues I find myself enjoying because I don't get stuck with my work.

Pros: Great opportunities for learning new skills
Cons: Long working hours per day

Good stepping stone

Working at a restaurant is very fun and mostly informative, its also very good for learning to interact with different types of people and cultures for diversity purposes. The staff I work with are very funand also can be very angering at times, but they teach you that people are different. Work can be stressful on busy days when you have to experience being busy and working as a team you have to work extra hard to cover the weakest link in the team while making sure orders and everything else is done in time. This job has taught me a lot of things, responsibility, time management, good workmanship, giving it your hundred percent in everything you do, and mostly taking pride in your work.

Pros: Opportunity for better employment in the field
Cons: More work less pay

Excellent customer service

Although we provide excellent customer services but we are not being paid for what we worth, our rate of working is very low and only being called to come to work when there's a busy, at the end you end earning less than R3000.

Pros: No promotion
Cons: Long working hours on holidays

Excellent in working organisation

There nothing nicer than given an opportunity to expose your self in working organisation, because that i where u find your self that where are u acxatly do u love working or not. Another thing that is where u able to communicate with people and also learnt something new about that task.It is also challenging if u have to find another information about it,but all in all I was enjoying it.

Pros: To be allowed to grow and learn something new.
Cons: To be not taught if there is a change within the company and if it will affect you.
