Tight knit group of co-workers, highly trained managers and a hard working force behind them.

Every morning we have a meeting for about 15-30 minutes to discuss the days workload. The company has two floors, and is seperated into 3 different divisions. The installation and the research and design department is upstairs. The workload is filtered downstairs. Everyone has their own quirks, strengths and weaknesses, which all compliments a very harmonic family type atmosphere. The workrate is always high and anything less than maximum effort will not be produced to clients. We strive for excellence. The managers expect quality from staff but are also very patient, and are always available to assist despite their workload.

Pros: Close knit environment where excellent work is encouraged due to size of company.
Cons: Short working hours

Wonderful learning experience

As a tutor, a typical working day includes teaching students, invigilating and marking tests, as well as marking essays. It is important to communicate with the lecturers about what the students need to focus on for tests and tutorial classes and to assist students in the writing process. Although I love the feeling of helping students process the challenges of academic life, it is often difficult to keep up with a multitude of confused and panicking undergraduates. Nevertheless, I have learned much about both the administrative and practical responsibilities that come with the job, how to communicate and appreciate co-workers and how to deal with up to 200 students each with their own agenda and concerns.

Pros: Learning more about your own field and responsibilities
Cons: Payment is poor
