An innovative company that keeps you at your best.
Working for IDBZ is the most wonderful thing I have done. IDBZ is an Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe and is involved 5key sectors which include ICT, Housing, Water Reticulation and Sanitation, Energy and Transport. Almost everyone is involved in carrying out this mandate thus you will interact with specialists from across all departments. The organisational departments are manned by highly qualified specialist who range from Engineers, Accountants, Environmental, Gender, Economists just to mention a few. There are a lot of takeaways, you become a project manager, a lawyer or even an engineer overnight through working as project team member. My role as a Management accountant was challenging and exciting as I wore many hats in carrying out my job and in order to give insightful reports and in preparation of budgets.
Pros: Great knowledge sharing

Disruptive Innovation
Having been part of the Steward Bank family from the start, the biggest bank in Zimbabwe by number of customers, I have been exposed to various aspects of introducing a technologically infused financial inclusion strategy to an economy that was largely "un-banked". The bank has had to break ceilings, to rise from being among-st the bottom 3 banks to being among-st the top 4 bank in Zimbabwe out of 16 registered commercial banks in 5 years. Given the volatile economic climate we all have had to play our part in being innovative, and going an extra mile in order to help the bank to become one of the most recognizable transaction conduits in Zimbabwe. This has been achieved with a blend of digital innovation and aggressive marketing through thousands of Agents and brand ambassadors countrywide.
Pros: Opportunities for promotions, challenging tasks
Cons: Poor appraisal systems, Salaries hit by hyperinflation

Career growth opportunity
Working within a banking environment requires a lot of due diligence, attention to detail, an eye for analysis as well as good customer management skills that I have come to develop in my 5 years at Steward bank. It is a good team working environment with good opportunities to meet different classes of clients and learn on how to best handle them the way they prefer the most.
Pros: Good banking experienc
Cons: Small promotion opportunities
