Daily Project Management
Responsible for Infrastructure Build Projects for 2meg and 10gig data from receipt of Planned Executanle File to hand-over to Service Activation department. Departments involved with are Service management, Finance, Material Management, Wayleaves, Build, Quality Control, National Network Operations, Service Activation I work well in the team dynamic, like to add value to daily operations and want to be involved with decisions that relate to my projects. I've learnt the hard and soft skills of project management and am furthering my education by enrolling in the Advanced Diploma in Business Project Management course through UCT and GetSmarter I love the challenge that Project Management gives me on a daily basis The most challenging aspect of my job is that I am not allowed to contribute to change that will benefit the department

Loved working there
I dealt with angry, frustrated, happy, excited customers. I was a customer service agent for Telkom, in the Technical Support Departmant. I configured routers, email accounts, helped with installations and troubleshooting. I also would log faulty lines for technicians to come out to the customer 's premises. My contract for Telkom ended that is why i left.

Enjoyed my time at Telkom
I dealt with various customers, various situations or calls. My typical work day at Telkom, walk in with a big smile on my face to get me going. And as i answer my first call of the day, I would do it with a smile, because no matter how frustrated and angry the other person on the line is.. they could hear when an agent is smiling and help them to best of my ability. My relationship with my ex co-workers, I treated every single one of them with respect. Every morning we would have a huddle and every person on my team would share what they learnt the previous day, what challenges they had and how does one plan to overcome it. My challenges were troubleshooting a wireless connection on an Apple computer, getting technicians to actually go out to the Exchange or to the customers premises and that was a challenge because, most Telkom technicians had no ladder, vans, or maybe the customers area would be a high risk of hijacking/robbing so they wouldn't even attempt to go out.

Great experience
I have been with Telkom sa for almost 4 year's and it has been a great experience ever. The company promotes teamwork, all departments need each other. The mission the vision of the company is to ensure that customers get the telecommunication services that they deserve and are happy at all times. Yes we meet good customers and difficult customers and they are treated with respect and equally. The customer is always right. Telkom jobs are not difficult especially when understood. One learns new things everyday. What make me happy is seeing a smile on clients face after a job well done. I am scared of dogs and that's the only challenge I have. In the section I am in, we install and repair telephone line, adsl lines, depending on what the assigners assign to us.
