Great introduction to various fields of innovation
The work offers a great platform to network with people from various backgrounds and industries with focus on entrepreneurship and the skills development impact for the youth with the aim of growing the Gauteng economy. Typical work day includes programme coordination, interacting with various stakeholders, planning of training including getting facilitators & participants, booking venues and processing of payments. The most fulfilling part about my job is the interaction with the youth and being able to offer training and see the impact it makes in their lives.
Pros: Great exposure to different industries
Cons: No growth opportunity

My role as coordinator is more administration than creative, and also repetitive
My role as communications coordinator includes profiling the work of The Innovation Hub. This relates to identifying relevant media platforms where both the organisation and the entrepreneurs it supports; management of all social media engagement; general content production; website management; and the production and circulation of the company newsletter. I write all media advisory’s and releases, and prepare speeches on behalf of principles. I am currently responsible for the content and procurement of the company’s coffee table book, and preparing and submission of regular media monitory reports for the M&E office as well as for EXCO.
Pros: learning from various entrepreneurs and creating content for them
Cons: repetitive work, not creative and now opportunity for growth
