Mining is a very intersting and challenging at the same time

-I have worked in a highly unionized enviromentand i have learnt to engaged in order to reach agreement with organised labour. Working with unions is highly challenging and interesting at the same time. There is no dull moment. You are always on your toes.

Pros: I have learnt a lot to engage the relevant stake holders
Cons: Very far from the city

I start my week with planning a two week in advance plan for weekly shuts and planned work and SAP generated plans and job tickets. I schedule day to day routine work management and assist supervisors in any work related problems. I do a weekly coordination of shuts and set up meetings for shut planning and post mortem for problems arising from shuts. I also set up meetings and chair these meetings for route cause analysis portraid from day to day production loss and equipment failure. Uphole and edit maintenance plans according to demands from maintenance team. Make sure that my resources are loaded for week to week planned work and keep up with safety procedures that must be implemented by all role players.

Pros: Not often chance for promotion
Cons: Better salary necesary

Grade control requires one to be on his toes all the time, lost is never regained.

The Grade Controller position entails overseeing day to day quality control on plant feed to maximize the value of extracting ore. With >4yrs in mining environment, I have gained a vast and valuable experience which comes from interacting with many components of mining; this includes mine exploration, geo-modelling, laboratory, metallurgy, mine planning and operations, data analysis and database management.

Pros: Occasionally do the acting role in the absence of the Production Geologist; this focuses on a broader scale of quality control for the mine
Cons: Interacting with multiple disciplines in mining has taught me to be patient in a world in which time lost is never regained

In 2013 I was employed in the position of workshop manager for Aveng-ACS until July 2017. I am readily available to begin work immediately, and look forward to a challenging career in Capetown.

Pros: Beautiful people make it a splendid company to work for.
Cons: Avail oneself always, especially in times of crisis. Ownership and accountability for plant uptime.
