I really enjoy my job, I also didnt have a boss that micro manages me and this inspired me to go the extra mile. My day was always busy and I pushed myself to improve new ideas. I was in charge of functions and my creative side came out. Most challenging was probably that I had to sort things out that I have no contol of. I would like the same environment, we worked like a chain together..

Training was given when shortfall was detected

Unitrans was a great company to work for, depending on your contract manager. I had the privelage to work under numerous managers whereby i learnt from each of them. They gave me the opertunity to study towards my Diploma at the university of Johannesburg. It is however extremely difficult to get promoted due to the large quantity of employees.

Pros: Up to date with technology. Training provided on new implementations.
Cons: Sometimes leaving you high and dry on operational matters. For example i on numerous occasions worked 24 to 36 hour shifts

Application for position

A typical morning starts at about 0630 when do the night shift fuel re-con for about 90 vehicles. After 7 when the company opens its normally all the admin duties, OHS meetings and internal audit. Any maintenance and security issues that might happen also gets solved by my team or contractors. By 1700 the company closes and by 2030 the night shift starts to work. Any issues that needs to be cleared up I also attend to.

Good experience

It's a Good learning environment which their experience is good and they not strict on Dress codes and well I got a good relationship with everyone I work with very friendly everyone from a diverse community we tend to learn from each other and they not selfish about teachings and most challenging aspects of what we do you have to pay attention to details and be deadline driven

Pros: Great place for learning if you still an Entry level
Cons: No overtime and short lunch break
