I have 8 years of experience in the retail industry, having worked 3years as cash desk consultant,3years as a stockroom supervisor and 2years as a floor manager. In my 8years working for the Truworths Group my main functions were operating the POS cash register,customer service, admin,banking,recieving and sending out stock,team player,merchandising and housekeeping. Working at Truworths has helped me learn the ins and outs of team work, customer service and stock control and good leadership.It has also helped me achieve my wholesale and retail operations certificate.Having helped my team to be awarded with a top achievement award for the best stock loss and customer service in the Gauteng area.‎

Customers

I help people to look good and feel good about themselves. I am a people’s person so I work easily with people , so I get along very well with customers and with my colleagues. I’m forever helping people and doing the same thing and that’s all I can do with retail but with job I feel like I can express myself differently and challenge myself.

Pros: I love my job
Cons: Long hours and one day off .

Excellint learning curves

Work with different people almost everyday. Each and everyday we learn different things.we use every challenge we face as an opportunity to grow more within our industry and we make sure that put the work in our craft!

Excellent learning curve

I started work at Truworths Harrismith as a cash desk consultant and sales consultant merchandiser in 2008 and in 2011 transferred to YDe Pavillion as a cash desk consultant and admin supervisor and in 2013 was given a promotion to admin supervisor at YDe gateway and in 2015 was promoted to assistant store manager at YDe gateway till 30 may 2018.

Excellent

My journey with Young Designers Emporium has been amazing as it is my first job in the work field.lts more like learning new methods on how to be better, than you were before you start,e,g like learning how to deal with difficult customers as day still goes on and they leave.Learning how to control your temper as customers are different. We spend most of my time at work due to that, we build relationships such as team work,so that we can communicate and work as a team because without communication we are lacking. I have learnt alot especially how to deal with customers not only that and work wise how to use the word of mouth,smile is the best thing to enjoy your day. Staying positive

Excellent learning curve,learned how to work well under pressure,be a team leader and deliver on time. Learned how to deal with customers since its a day to day thing.staff discipline and the smooth running of the store.

working in a welcoming environment with people who make it easy for you to learn new things amd grow within the company. teamwork and making sales also being able to grow in the company and learning more about the fashion industry
