Ampath Trust Reviews

Excellent learning curve

I am always on my feet. Fixing things or mistakes made by the last person is what I do which then means I have to have a good relationship with co-workers while making sure the work is done with respect and accuracy at all times. I have learnt that mistakes happen and when they do we have to be on our feet to make sure the customer is served and try by all means possible to cover and not expose the company as to dent the name while the customer is always happy. I enjoy interacting with employees and making sure work is done (especially if I have to do it myself). The most challenging thing at times is the difficult doctors we encounter who will require you to be at your calmest state while dealing with them.

Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: Working weekends

I have grown as a person and matured as a worker at Ampath.

It is a good company to work for as the staff and management are very good in what they do. The stuff is good to work with as we communicate a lot. I have grown from from a warehouse assistant to a jnr purchasing officer and I am enjoy helping internal customers with their order. I process requisition to purchase order and follow up orders from supplier and find out when are they delivering. I work well with the staff and I always ask for advise when I need it and assist my co workers when they need my help.We work 8 hours a day that is excluding lunch and 5 days a week. Working with internal customers day to day is challenging but I have learned to dil with them as it is important to know you audience.

Pros: No over time , Only work 40 hours a weel
Cons: To much work as times

Gained management experience

It is a good company but in my profession there is very little room for growth. I have been working for more than 10 years but I know people who just qualified and are earning more. Hence I'm looking at other job opportunities. Standard of living is getting really high

Pros: Training
Cons: Very little room for growth

Incharge of my own books. Strong in reckon collection .Independent. Good working relations

A typical work day at Ampath starts at 8.00 O'clock in the morning. I reportat half past seven to give myself enough time to prepare for the day. On arrival the first thing I do is to check queries that might have arrived at overnight. I deal with these queries within 24 hours and give feedback to my supervisor. At Ampath I don't wait to be given a task. I am in charge of my own books. This has has taught me to work with minimal supervision and to reach my targets in time . I have a good working relation with all my colleagues. Our office is open plan, which requires one to have a cheerful personality. The only challenge comes as we approach Financial Year End. There are some colleagues who don't meet deadlines. As the results we are requested to jump in and give a hand to those who are falling behind and carry on with my work as well.

Pros: I have a great opportunity to work for Ampath. I have grown to become independent. I have learned to work in the team and independently. Working with Clients Nationaly and Internationaly has taught me to be very strong in communication. Working with Clients has taughtme to humble myself while be firm in collection of the companies money. I am very passionate with my work and have a good relationship with my Client and colleagues. Reducing the bad debts is my number one priority.
Cons: My working hours is eight hours, but I work extra hours within our department and in other departmentsif there is a need to do so.

Learning curve

Since working at Ampath, I was introduced to other companies and as a result I developed working relationship with them. My position was a very demanding and challenging, and needs one to focus and have attention to details. I have learnt a lot and I was granted an opportunity to further my studies and I am very grateful for that. I also attended short courses rendered by the company.

Pros: Great opportunity for studying
Cons: There is no growth

Greener pastures

I am a young female qualified Enrolled Nurse. Extremely passionate of my career and what I do. I’m a hard working person, always eager to learn from others especially co-workers, enjoy teaching others too. I believe any company that would hire me, would definitely recruit an excellent team player. With the experience I have in this field, i know that I will be dedicated to grow, as a nurse and as an individual.

Pros: Extremely dedicated at my job
Cons: Long working hours

Possibility for growth

I started in the company in April 1998 as a Receptionist/Runner. I have grown from there to be where I am now and learned a lot about procedures and policies. I enjoy the training and audits which were jobs that was added later on as I wanted to learn other function instead of just office work. You can say I am a Jack of all trades. I am efficient, I know what is expected of me and I do it. I have reached a point in my job where my boss knows she doesn't have to check my work, because it is done, thus we never have any problems where it comes to the quality of my work.

Pros: Potential in learning new things
Cons: Not much promotional possibilities

Need to change the career hence i'm studying office admistration.

The task is to collect and deliver specimen to the Laboratory and deliver Doctors result to their consulting's rooms. The relationship is very good and we work as the Team. Working as a team is very important and you can achieve what is expected from the employee with a potential team. The most enjoyable task is delivering of the patient results to the Doctors. The most challenging of the job I don't have any challenges I do have lot of experience working with clients so I don't have any more challenges and because I did attend customer training and cultural diversity, so I understand how to deal and solve some challenges.

Pros: Need a new challenge.
Cons: Working hours that we agree with company and overtime.
