First time right job preformance

Communication skills are vital in a team, and it makes it easier for the team to perform also to avoid delays during production, Promotion is not easy to comeby and people are not treated in a fairly manner,colour of skin is still a problem. Safety is excellent and it is the gospel of the day

Tough conditions for tough people

A typical work day starts with operational meetings discussing performance of plant and challenges being faced. Work is commenced for the day dealing with problems in order of urgency. Pressure is constantly on from different sides as the plants interact with each other. I have learnt how to prioritise, get things done in adversity, and stay positive while continuously improving an old plant. I enjoy the spirit of comraderie and "nothing's impossible" attitude of the people I work with, most who have become good friends of mine. The challenging aspects of the job are the working conditions - dust, long hours, old plant and financial limiting environment.

Cons: Low growth potential for someone remaining in technical field

A great opportunity for learning

the company is a great place for gaining experience and learning all aspects of engineering. it entirely depends on which section you are based but as far as I know the relationship with colleagues is super great I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. limitations are 1 of the disadvantages of working here, well for me I cant say there is potential growth, due to cost savings and other related issues we cant even get other trainings we need related to our workplace. it sure feels like sometimes our skill is not recognized and the moral of being here is slowly deteriorating. I really love this place but if means no growth for me surely I don't see myself here within the next two years

My short discription

Is to keep the plant running at all times minimizing the break down, make sure all the required spares is available on site. Training artisans and apprentices is my daily job, planning and job distribution. Do RCA with technical team also the way of fighting against the unnecessary delays in plant. Working as a team ,listen to peoples ideas is my thing. I have been promoted to be a master fitter 3 years back, now I am currently acting on supervisor position its been 3 months now, and I am looking forward to add more build my experience on different industry.

Pros: Yes they are chances of being get a promotion
Cons: 9 hour 40 minutes

Working within a demanding environment.

I work long hours, I'm a center of communication during the production process. I'm a last man standing after pushing the production, I do house keeping every shift ending.

I gained more knowledge

I completed my 3 years post apprentice at arcelormittal SA vanderbiljipark works, aas electrician working with artisans. Servicing, modifying, repair and install all electrical equipment

Pros: Qualified electrician
