You're literally pushed to study more and more in order to further your carrier. There is a great mix of old and new generation individuals, this mix has its ups and downs. The institution is built on solid values and that's what keeps it above its industry equivalents.
Pros: Excellent study support programmes. Traveling opportunities
Cons: No pension funds

Working at the AGSA
People are in general friendly and focused. There are good perks like leave and other things like life insurance. The company is however extremely focused on transformation and very little if at all other than black racial groups are newly employed. It is also not possible to get a promotion to a higher level if you are not black.
Pros: Good perks
Cons: No career advance if you are not black

It was an extraordinary learning curve
Work from 7 am -16h30pm from Monday to friday. During reporting we work extra 4 hours per night for almost 2months. we have good working relations as co-workers as we should collaborate our work. I have learnt a lot e.g planning , time management, team work, patience, due diligent, proper documentation. The exposure to interact with leadership of the auditees and the Auditor General of SA leadership. The challenge was having to cope with tight deadlines, having team members of different characters and learning.
Pros: Opportunity to learn new things on each cycle of the audit
Cons: Long working hours

Human Element
There is a room for work and personal life balance, it is understood that we are only humans after all. It is not a hustle to ask for leave to be approved when one has personal plans to fulfill. There are peak times usually in June/July as well as October/November, tat is where one may have to go an extra mile to ensure that deadlines are met.
Pros: Work/Life Balance
Cons: Tight deadlines
