WORK EXPERIENCE INVOLVES: Individual casework. Family preservation. Working with people with disabilities. Working with people with HIV/AIDS Community involvement. Poor relief. Foster care. Report writing. Referral to other service providers/professional. NGOs Monitoring. Administration. RELATIONSHIP WITH CO-WORKERS: Relationship with co-workers is based on mutual respect and professionalism. WHAT I HAVE LEARNT: Case Work Group Work Community Work WHAT I ENJOY MOST: What i enjoy most is learning new things everyday when cases are reported at the office. THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECTS OF THE JOB: 1. Lack of resources Transport is inadequate and it becomes difficult to go and Monitor NGOs in other areas of operation, do home visits and conducts campaigns when transport is not available. There is no machine for printing and making copies at the office.
Pros: Great opportunity for experience

Learning curve
working for the Department of social development was a learning curve and helped me to deal with kinds of people. working as a receptionist , admin clerk, supply chain doing stock tacking, placing orders counting stock, and all procurement services liaising with stakeholders. my relationship with co-workers was excellent because I have a great sense of hummer and I inter act with everyone I also have a skill to deal with lot of people. I have leant that doing hard work pays because as I was an intern I was doing most of the work I knew that will be an advantage for to lean everything. I enjoyed the courses that were provided to me like warehouse mana gement for clerks the most challenging aspects were : when senior staff decided not to help or assist me with information I needed as an intern

Challenging environment but with a lot of learning opportunities.
For the opportunity I was given by Social development for the past 5 years and the other 4 years of which they paid for my studies at the university of Pretoria; I cannot find the correct words to express my gratitudes. I'm a very dedicated, motivated, hands-on, punctual, independent person today because of the environment in Social Development. We work in an environment in which we are able to love, respect and care for each other while maintaining a professional relationship amongst each other. We have high work load with less resources at times but we manage to meet our targets with the time management skills that we have and coordination skills. We attend a lot of trainings to enhance our knowledge and skills for effective service delivery and to make sure that our service consumers are not secondary victimized. We prioritize the needs of our clients most of the time. I've enjoyed assisting families and individuals and making a difference in their lives.
Pros: Observing differences in people's lives. Professional growth and a welcoming environment.
Cons: High work load and a lot of travelling with less family time. Limited promotion opportunities.

Good communication skills and team work ,good interpersonal relations and analytical thinking
I completed my grade 12 at Shongwe high School in 2004. I am now qualified with the Diploma in Accounting and certificate in Computer literacy. I am physically fit to perform operational duties and physical labour. I can work well under pressure and severe situations and prepared a plan or unplanned overtime. I have got good communication skills both verbal and written together with computer skills and I have completed short courses on PERSAL, BAS (Basic Accounting System), payroll, general journal & financial reporting at Mpumalanga Provincial Government Training Centre. I HAVE LEARNED THAT WORKING A S A TEAM IS MUCH EFFECTIVE, AND GIVE OUT PROGRESS IN THE OUTCOMES. I ENJOY WORKING THE COMMUNITIES, AS CHALLENGES ARE DIFFERENT, AND VIEW EVERY SITUATION IN DIFFERENT ANGLE.
