Backward way of doing things

Working at Dis-Chem as part of the cosmetics team in one of their retail stores in Pretoria. I found that it can be quite challenging in terms of the way things are run and policies and procedures that they have in place. There is no consistency throughout the whole of the company and everyone does everything differently or as they please to do. The way that they calculate the working hours does not the same as the contracted hours.

It's a fast and busy environment with hard working and energetic and diverse people, never a dull moment, customer service is key and a goal driven environment

Time management skills, sales, communicating with different individuals

A typical day at work will be unpacking stock using the FIFO method (first in first out),assisting customers to find products and also advise them to try our new products on the market. Also advising customers with different dietary restrictions on what to eat and not to eat. I have a very good team in my department we assist each other with our work load and also advise another on how to deal with different customers. Dealing with people from different backgrounds, working long hours. I enjoy when I assist customers find different products and when they come back to tell me how their doing. The most challenging aspects is trying to juggle unpacking pack and assisting customers, the working hours can be very hard at times.

EXCELLENT LEARNING CURVE

It is one of the fruit fulling challenges working at Dis-Chem Pharmacy the conditions are well and enable each an every worker to work according to his/her skills, taught me how to deal with outside stakeholders such as customers, good communication skills with internal and external staff members and customers as well, how to deal with money and know how to eliminate unnecessary mistakes. all in all the working atmosphere is very good at Dis-Chem and challenging at the same time as i like working under pressure and a challenge at the same time.

Great work experience

Earning experience of cashier,handling money and customers

Having good skills on handling cash, having friendly superisors and colleagues, doing paper work I like that its a busy environment having lot of customers my colleague they are good team players.challenges is to deal with very difficult clients each and every day.

Wonderful experience and learning more

my working hours consists 45 hours a week with an average of R26 hourly rate.I've learned how to communicate with customers and how to solve solutions properly to keep the customer satisfaction.M. My relationship with my co-workers became personal due to everyone being really open with each other and helping each other where they can.Also to also to ensure that we keep our company standars high and maintain quality service to our customers.. I've mostly enjoyed working in different parts of the shop so that it can gain more experience i.The most challenging aspects was dealing with difficult customer because you have to remain calm to solve the problems eventhough the customer are being rude towards you.!y my

Fair

Its a fair company ,have only worked there so pretty hard to compare with other customer service companies I love that ian able to push myself as an individual and also able to get a bonus at the end of the year .
