Great company to gain experience in where they set you up with tools

You get to learn to learn a lot about how process works with them training you of what is required from the average professional in the finance industry. These tools will enable you to be a very good candidate in other companies

Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Too many segements

Flexible working environment

My role was to provide business clients with value added services they do not have on their accounts, since I arrived I have been awarded top performer a number of times due to my ability of meeting targets even though I sometimes had a challenge with difficult clients.

Pros: Everyone is treated with respect
Cons: Less permanent job opportunities especially after a learnership

Working for FNB

FNB as a company has taught me a great work ethic. Learning and development of their staff is critical in their vision of improving their business. Overally to work for FNB can be challenging as commitmens and responsibilities must be adhered to.

Pros: Flexibility I.t.o working from home etc
Cons: Remuneration and reward requires more consideration

I started working for First National Bank last year June and it has been a great experience for me.

I started working for First National Bank last year June and it has been a great experience for me. When I got there I didn’t know anything about financial crime and during the space of 2 months we had to adapt to the working environment and the speed at which things are done. I’m really grateful for all the experience that I have acquired since last year. For months now I have been looking for a company that would give me a chance to use my degree. I want to practically apply the things that I have learned at varsity.

Pros: Salary
Cons: Difficult to get permanent.

Great learning experience

Had the opportunity to work for one of SA's big banks and it was quite an amazing experience as it left me with a number of skills particularly communication which is an aspect needing constant training especially when your role entails serving clients.I enjoyed the administration part of my job most as I realized that that's where my passion lies. I met beautiful individuals that formed the most amazing teams that allowed productivity in the work place.I really enjoyed how they would go all out for the team building outings and the year end functions, it does make employees feel important and valued. I think with everything though working on weekends was the most challenging.

Pros: Opportunities for promotion
Cons: weekends are not free
