Good
Measuring KPI on daily activity of plant, Through daily meetings with artisan,scheduling of jobs,root causes on breakdowns,spares availability and production targets daily.Good Relationship with workers,communications daily.Enjoyed reaching production targets monthly,it motivates the whole team. Challenging part was to balance between maintenance and production targets.

I am currently Head of Category Procurement at Lafarge SA, Subsidiary of LafargeHolcim Group, I am responsible for the overall leadership and management of the category team including the dual rokkdklessldldlds of Strategic Category Management with 5 CM FTE and Operational Procurement(P2P) with 5 Senior Buyer FTE. This I have been now leading the team since January

Excellent learning curve
A typical work day for me involves visiting current clients to cement relationships and grow the business. I also visit client sites to ensure delivery and quality is achieved. Problem solving from an operational, accounts and technical perspective is also part of what is done. My relationship with co-workers is very good as well as professional. The most challenging aspect at the moment has been the economy and having so much opposition that are more reasonable than us has not been fun. I love dealing with and learning people though, and that part of my job is where my passion lies - relationship management on all levels.

Applies with the BCEA
It's a typical life in the office. My job relies on interacting with employees and making sure that we adhere to the laws set out. There is a lot of reporting on what has been done by the company as we fall within the mining and manufacturing industry.

As an Senior Credit Controller/ Accounts Receivable Specialist I have collected R60million outstanding old bad debt due from 2015. Trained, inducted and coached new staff members on SAP system which saved time and money for the company. Identified problems in pricing and discount calculations and resolved it. Substantially increased revenue for the company..

Best experience gained
I allow people too come up with ideas in my department and I support and direct where necessary. I am the type of a leader who enjoys when people become innovative and creative. In this company I have learnt to deal with people and with difficult situations, for an example, situations where our product does not perform well and I and my team had to put in extra hours to ensure that this is corrected. To liaise with production and at the same time sustain that positivity in people, I had to encourage them so that they do not panic, become demotivated or discouraged.
