I’m a Registered nurse in a 34 bedded Ward , Medical mostly. I’m in charge of my shift reporting to the unit manager. My day involves doing doctors rounds , controlling an issuing of schedule drugs . Assist in diagnostic procedures eg Lumbar puncture

Life Healthcare is a great employer, it takes care of its employees

I am a 40 year old, with a total of more than 10 years work experience, I am a senior accounts Clerk, I have experience in payroll, finance, human Resources, Administration, coaching I am currently 7 years with the company I work for,and have up to junior management experience. I am a hardworking individual and always dedicated to my work.

i have designed Occupational Health system for Life healthcare hospitals and Financial Collections, Financial and Legal Recoveries, Bulk Business Process and Document Management Solutions for leading banks. Produced Documentation, Work flows, Architectural diagrams (including technical), Processes and work flows to discuss with the stakeholders and the team.

Working in the healthcare industry

Being a healthcare based organisation the focus remains at all times on the nursing staff. Admin staff is not considered to better their careers as there are so many people out there ready to walk into any admin position. Being the hospital secretary allows for a diverse day with various challenges. I have the responsibilities of an office manager; however I only get the acknowledgement of a junior secretary. During my time at the hospital I have learned how to manage a hospital as well as extensive project management due to continued building projects and renovation projects.

Pros: Good company perks like 13th check; subsidised medical aid and provident fund
Cons: No room for advancement in the admin department

Excellent learning capabilities

Life Healthcare is a very big company but does not pay the staff what they are worth. More and more work is being given to one person without proper acknowledgement or incentive

Excelleng learninv curve

Fellow employees and collegues were excellent. Stressful enviroment however good learning curve. Enjoyed working in a team. I have learned to work in a tesm as well as independantly. Bood team spirit.

Cons: Managemeng id not always fair.
