Procedure of work

At the company we work as a team including the supervisor and foreman approaching the day work how to handle it. Before we go to the work place we do have a green area meeting talking about job and how to solve problems on the job that make me feel happy and enjoy working.

Mechanical designer

Designing transformer units (internal and external) complying with customer specifications,SANS & SABS. Producing customer drawings and production drawings. Inspecting the job from winding manufacturing, winding assembly, active parts, tank assembly,modeling of parts and its drawings, tanking to testing and dispatch. Ordering of replacement parts for transportation and installation on site,Design review (internal and external) SAP system, BOM, NCR, SIGMA CARD AND WINDUNG SLIPS.

Excellent transformer experience

- Typically I would work on new transformer projects and handle manufacturing issues. - I have an good working relationship with my co-workers. - I have learned how to design a product at a certain insulation level, learn how to make it electrically robust under fault conditions. I have a better understanding of how a transformer gets put together. I have learned how to implement the theory into piratical application. - I enjoy seeing what I have designed being successfully manufactured and tested. - The most challenging part is having to look for work when there are no production work

Pros: Learning about transformers and manufacturing.
Cons: Working hours are fixed.

Winding, assembling and Maintenance.

My ypical work day is working night shift, worked good with my co- workers, learned good communication skills and team work, enjoyed reaching my daily targets and finding faults and fixing faults was challenging.

Excellent learning transformer environment

It's a good environment to work in. I enjoy working with my co-workers, they are friendly and one can Learn a lot from each one of them. Every person is different and it's good to know how to best communicate with each one of them on a day to day basis. The most challenging part is the long hours.

Typical work day

My key performances at work is to do researches, implementing new concepts. i also Improving designs, reducing cost on materials and as well as the time spent on design. I am assisting in manufacturing, especially on new concepts.

Pros: I learn new things everyday. I do not focus on doing one thing. The job spec is more broad

Excellent working environment, very interactive and friendly collegues. It is manufacturing environment with colleagues of various ages. Therefore communication and respect is very essential
