It is a great company to work for as if affords us great exposure to various clients in various industries, it allows for flexibility, the corporate culture is amazing. We are afforded lots of opportunities to learn and apply that which we have learnt. We learn to be responsible for our own development.

Working for a Top 4 organisation

Being part of a global organisation as well as responsible for service delivery , it is key to build relationships and focus on your clients as well as the business needs. The environment is continually evolves and there is significant requirement to make innovation a top priority. Every day present opportunity for development and growth. As a manager it is crucial to keep staff aligned to your vision as well a motivated amid work pressure.

Great exposure

Typical day includes following up on client's tax related inquiries on SARS and department of home affairs. Balancing bank account customer and supplier account on pastel and reconciling salaries on Sage VIP

It a place to grow your career and sharpen you future.

PWC is a excellent place to be, you get the opportunity to expand your thinking in different industries. The company culture is very diverse as you get to interact with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Since i joined the firm i have a good relationship with the managers and the junior on the team. One of the things i enjoy the most is the team dynamics and getting to solve our client's complex problems. The most challenging thing about the work we do is the we always working on something different and i love it because we never stop learning new things.

Pros: There is lot of space for growth in one's carrer
Cons: Only during busy seasons and on other season we work flexibly.

Exposure to different environments

Exposure to different environments help with the understanding what the investigators are looking and a good understanding of what we as forensic technical specialists need to look for. Also going to the client and giving the client comfort to the processes what will be implemented establishes a good relationship between the service provider and the client.

Professional, high integrity, fast and accurate.

The head would allocate a schedule of invoices requiring process each day. Needing checking and verification prior to billing the client. Any changes had to be verified by the accounts manager prior to invoicing. A minimum daily quantity of invoices had to be processed. There were issues with regards daily performances. The latter related to inaccuracies, duplication, and the quantity of invoices processed by individuals. It appeared that individual performance was not a benchmark for achieving and that the team performance was the prime contributor to success. This was frustrating at times because some team members were lazy and ill trained. Clicks were formed as a result of this. Performers and non-performers. I learned to be accurate and fast. I enjoyed that the dept head looked up to me for assisting others. Waiting for replies from the PWC partners tended to bottleneck the speed of invoicing. One of the facets I hated was not being able to be evaluated for my own personal achievements.

Pros: Great company to work for buit as I was employed as a contract worker there were no significant incentives for promotion or advance.
Cons: No office telephones.

What you put in is what you get in return.

- My passion is to ensure that I exceed expectation for what ever task that has been allocated to me either individually or as a team. - I also like to ensure the growth of the company first because that will also improve my growth as a an individual.

Pros: - Working for a big firm like PwC is a great pleasure for me because it gave me a chance of dealing with high prolie clients and gave the opportunity to grow as an individual
Cons: - My main concern was that I am dealing with one specific element of preparing income tax return for individuals while there is a big part that I am missing it tax.

I have knowledge on how to audit the financial statements of insurance companies, pension funds and regulatory returns. Personally I am essentially easy-going individual, driven by passion whether in my profession and personal life.

Excellent learning curve

We are a team of 6 servicing Advisory nationally. The great thing about this is we cannot work in silos. Because we are such as small team we get involve in all the L&D projects, what makes it even more fun is that you can to experience all aspects of the L&D cycle. I had opportunities to do needs analysis, designing and executing the design. I go to experience the end to end product of creating a learning intervention. My Typical day will be full of meeting with stakeholders looking at creating a new curriculum that will be talking to the changing world of work, to being swamped by the admin work that need to be loaded on our LMS or pulling of report at month end. Because we are a global firm, we get opportunities to travel overseas to assist with all their training events.

Pros: Global company therefore great ooportunities for travel and secondments
Cons: Because it's such a big company it create unhealty compatitions sometimes
