Best learning experience

I work with people, I teach them how to maintain the company standard. My responsibilities are to give good Customer service To make sure there's stock availability To serve fresh product to customers & to make sure that they have the best shopping experience.

Opportunities given to learn something new everyday

Its a very challenging environment yet an interesting one where you have to deal with different customers everyday some are nice and some are difficult but as an employee you need to make sure that you provide excellent or best service at all times despite the challenges. I have an amazing and good relationship with both managers and staff. The challenging part is knocking of late at night since there's no transport for staff and late at night we have to hike every time and it's not safe.

Do the best of my ability to everything I do

With my working experience at checkers I've learnt to work with cash as I was a cahier. To be more responsible and to take charge of a department as a became a controller. I was ordering stock, scheduling staff and doing stock takes. As a receiving clerk I learnt how to capture invoices receive stock and return stock. All and all as well as shrinkage loss control and left.

Excellent learning curve with limited opportunities for promotions. Work/life is unbalanced

I'm currently responsible for delivering training and development. I'm providing training, assessment and moderate poe.I am also conducting store visiting to the division. I train manager, regionals and general saff.

Excellent learning curve

I have enjoyed my work and learned a lot, I have improved as a person and developed as a manager.I enjoyed interacting with customers, developing and sharing my knowledge with staff and other external stakeholders such as sales Rep. I have develop intellectually and as a manager,my analytical thinking has improved and the work shop we had has really improved us. I am now confident in my abilities that I can join any management team and my ability to grasp quickly has enabled me to be the person that I am and my company benefited a lit in my skills. The only aspect if the business that I didn't enjoy was responding to alarm call outs at night our safety was not guaranteed.

Shoprite is Africa's biggest retailer. The company embarked on a digital transformation programme. The organization is underpinned by vast application and technology landscapes that are key to it's business operations
