Very good learning curve
Working at this agency has been exciting and I have learnt so much pertaining government policies and legislation, financial statements, calculations and data capturing which is all incorporated in my normal day to day functions and duties. A typical work day is assisting 150-200 clients applying for social grants daily. I have worked at this agency since 2003,and I have matured in this working environment. I have good relationships with all the staff because I work in teams in each and every different department and rotation takes place annually. The administration part of my job is what I enjoy the most and being able to train and assist the new officials who is not well-known with the specific system. The most challenging aspect of my job is visiting main hospitals and institutions such as old age homes and psychiatric institutions to finalize social grant applications.

Im a hardworker ,always willing to learn new things ,problems solver and addicted with numbers
Day to day monitoring of the budget and expenditure , preparing of reports for top management meeting and budget committee , compiling annexures for disclosure notes for the preparation of IFS and AFS, Resolving of audit queries arisen from prior audited information, supervising of sub-ordinates and also mentor so as to coach the one which are on entry level post in terms of giving them proper foundation about public sector ,I strive for the better and try to be someone's roles model thus importantly maintain an open door policy. I've been able to create devisable working environment and one of the things I have developed is to always be a strategic leader and I've been enjoying crunching figures during planning sessions as well working with excel spread sheet and pivot tables as well creating graphical representation for top management report as they say that financial data should be analyse and prepared differently in order for it to keep stakeholders involved curious about their spending patterns.
Pros: the previlege of being able to mentor nor coach entryl level officials which are under my supervision

I would like to know my over roll review
I would like to know how much do i worth, in my job drisciption i am taking applications, doing the system verification, customer care, doing bookings of clients for medical assessment.. Taking daily statistics, attending inquiries tellephonically and walk in inquiries, Managing the paypoint and insuring smooth payments and addresing problems of clients who did not received their payments. diserminating information to our clients through out reach programes. Identifying the customer needs, and working with our service providers,

Acquired skills and exposure.
Working for SASSA is rewarding, as specially with the current challenge SASSA is facing. The experiential training that comes with the current challenge and to be part of that team makes it rewarding. The environment is of great team work and good communication among the staff.

A service level with lot of potential
I do the screening of the potential grant recipient and then take down the application using the computer system of referred to as SOCPEN. I open files and archive them . I do the customer services and also do banking hall or pay-point monitoring where the grants get paid.

I have much experience for the post as I recently studied basic sign language
I am working 8 hours a day as an administrator ,liase close with social workers for issues relating to orphans , liase closely with community about issues relating to doctors appointments, I make applications different types of grants. I've learned a lot especially when it comes to conflict between beneficiaries and family members. What I like most about my admini work is that its challenging me I always experience new things such as beneficiaries telling lies and the Agency getting to tell them what is true. The challenges I experience is when there's no resources to help the poor communities the agency sometimes lacks resources.
Pros: The possition will be of great benefit to me as it will be a new venture to me

Working under pressure at the same time being deducted to my work.
Unfortunately at SASSA I was working on contract and contract had expired now I'm unemployed. But overall working for SASSA was a great experience and as for myself I've never worked at a collections department but when I got there the supervisor and our mentor made it easy for me to learn. And not so long I was task with my dairly responsibility and I did so well in such a way that when my superiors are not in the office I will lead the section. At SASSA were a team in such a way that I could not have fear to tell my colleague if they were doing wrong. I was never a supervisor but I've learnt supervision skill, working independently without supervision and being dedicated to my work. The challenges we had was shortage of staff members in our section and developing strategies for debtors to pay special the grant debtors.
