My Job description
I am refunds administrator. What I basically do is calculate refunds amount and send the files to finance for payment. The process involves thorough investigation and requires analytical skills because the refund requests do not always come with accurate instructions, and even when they do I still need to do background check to validate the authenticity of the instructions. I use Microsoft excel for calculations and reports. I deal directly with primary and secondary clients both telephonically and through email. I also draft premium adjustment letters when required to. I have very good relationship with my co-workers which makes it easier for them to attend to my requests and help me whenever I need assistance. I have learnt to pay attention to details because I deal with money, and any slight ignorance may have huge financial implications to the company and I might lose my job. I am good in numbers, analytical thinking, and communication.
Pros: I enjoy what I do on daily basis
Cons: It's a small company and not everyone is take their work serious, which alters the development of the company.

My Status
I am employed at The BEST Funeral society as a billing administrator. I’m responsible for 104 profiles, for which every month I ensure that bills are sent to clients timeously and premiums are allocated as payments are made and schedules are received. My primary duty is billing and allocation of the premiums, therefore I constantly do reconciliation of the premiums to ensure that the money paid matches the payment schedule for all my profiles. One of my biggest profiles has over 3000 members, and I am managing it well. I deal with queries from both primary and secondary clients, telephonically and through emails. My job is highly deadline-driven throughout the month, and the pressure gets high every month end. My one wish is to be given the opportunity to grow.
