Excellent and challenging learning curve

I worked straight shift from 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday. I enjoyed working working with everyone as i used to rotate around different electrical departments at the terminal. I always found it easy to form relationships with people and adapt. I learnt the important skills of fault finding during breakdowns and also on faulty machinery. I learnt how to perform planned maintenance and also having to Google foe the latest technology at our industry. What i enjoyed nost was to meet new challenges all the time on different departments and having to come up with solutions to solve the problems. The most challenging esppect i came across was to get other employees who have been working af the industry for years to take my advice or solutions to a problem at first hand. But at the end of the day when someone is right they are right. We'll always come back to the same solution.

PLC, AC and DC Drives, HT Switching.

Attend breakdowns and doing fault finding on the cranes. Also doing maintenance on the cranes. Morning check ups and doing follow up on the breakdown occurred on previous night. So time supervisor a team of 25 people. Organize work to be done on the day. Learnt to work with people and work under pressure. Enjoy working on breakdowns, learn new stuff in every breakdown you encounter. Get the crane back to operation.

I i can teach and train people. I am reliable person. I my position. taught me a lot. How to deal with customers and how to handle their queries on day to day basis. Challenges of not having spporting documentation to substatiate caim and difficult to disoute or repudiate claim due to unavailability of investigation report. Enjoying to train new claims officers.

Cons: Work after hours

Excellent

Working at transnet was very challenging day by day, I have learnt to work with different types of people's, sharing knowledge, views, opinions and to work as a team. I have enjoyed that sometimes when I have too much work to do, I have to certifies with my lunch time in order to make sure that I complete my task on time and to make sure my jobe is done on a correct and acceptable way.

I am still on the normal stock controller rate and therefor whould like to be evaluated.

They only care about themselves and dont reward over all the company is good but you struggle to get your yea i see myself as a supervisor or a warehouse controller one day. increase and bonuses.rd good work.

Pros: Manning the diesel station, compiling data from out the diesel logbook, do cycle counting, issuing and receiving on SAP and fisicle, binning, housekeeping, filing, doing standby after hours,loading and off loading with a forklift.
Cons: I dont get overtime only through standby call outs.

Great place to learn working individual

I had a great time to learn ethics and to balance work life and my personal life. I have achieved to work under pressure, balance my university work company work on time. Cooperate with other people which was bit lacking I have gained some communication skills

I improve my theoretical and practical of other trade's with which relevant to my qualifications.

At working in transnet Port Terminal it's me an opportunity to learn my job ,how to work under pressure ,how to work according time like in terms of breakdowns.and how to work as team or individually.i learn how to a team Maker and as an artisan how to a good decisions according work.

Pros: It's great platform for growing in terms of work and opportunity for promotion.
Cons: Night shift ,long working hours , breakdowns

We are gaining more knowledge because of worshops

It is a good company with a lot of resources hence they consider safety first as you walk in to the gate. All the workers have their right to shere New Ideas if they have to so that the company will be at the higher Level.
