It has been a great platform to create discipline and planning and balancing school and work.

The department that I worked for had excellent senior lecturers who supervised and mentored us. They also equipped us with great facilitating skills and teaching skills to fellow students.

Pros: A platform for working experience
Cons: Marking papers was time consuming

Great opportunity

It was great opportunity working for the university and allowed me to experience the work environment whilst I was studying. The work culture gave room for the employees to licence themselves and be able to make decisions on their own without constant supervision. The work-life balance is what sells this job opportunity and allows you to study whilst working.

Pros: Great working wnvironment
Cons: Uneven hours and low pay

Good place to build experience

Its an average 8-4 job, paying just under market related salaries. Good place to learn, but bad place if you're looking for a relaxed working environment. Tons of last minute deadlines and massive lack of communication. Overall, not a bad place to work at, but not a good place to stay working at.

Pros: great atmosphere in the team i work with
Cons: very bad managers

Enhances skills and knowledge

I have enhanced my knowledge in the chemical industry and had practical experiences. I was able to work individually and collaboratively. We were taught to write weekly reports which is extremely important to know in my field of study. The hours have been long and hectic and that taught me how to work under pressure and to be resilient. The course material is relevant and consise which made it easy to understand the concepts of the course and to excel in them.

Pros: Excellent practical amd theoretical experiences
Cons: Bulk work

Digital Literacy Tutor

Assist students with Word, PowerPoint presentations, Excel and Projects. What I learnt was to be patient with the students, communications skills, Literacy skills as well. What I enjoyed the most was to be able to increase my communications skills and also my Literacy skills. I struggled a bit when it came to computers but now I'm up to standards. The most challenging experience was to be able to adapt into that environment, I'm used to working with consumers and not necessarily students so having to shift my audience was quite overwhelming. My co-workers were very helpful as it was my first year and kept me on par at all times. As I am a fast learner, they were shook in how I learnt the dynamics at a fast pace.

Pros: A platform for growth
Cons: Dealing with students that don't know anything
