Interesting but challenging
Work can be fun but at the same time sometimes challenging. Challenging because you are required to work within diversity, different personalities travel through an airport and need to be accommodated. My career has thought me to maintain strong relationships with co-workers as you may never know when you might need their assistance. The thing I enjoy most is interacting with people of different origin. The most challenging part of my job is when I need to provide responses to customers, a large sum of the information needs to come from stakeholders and I know that the response has no truth in it.

I am dedicated in everything I do and put an extra effort.
I coordinate all the reports and ensure that they are in order. I ensure that all the travels are done on time and training is captured. I have a good relationship with all my colleagues and stakeolders and I ensure that i resolve all conflicts ans and never take anything personally. I have learnt patience, proffessionalism, accuracy, team work, effeciency and effectiveness. I enjoy the conversations, advices and laughter. The most challenging aspect is to deal and understand different personalities, adjusting and to become sensitive to everyone's feelings and in that I have leaned to be accomodative and understaing.
Pros: I am learning from all specialists and the exposure is great

Great opportunity for growth
Airports company provides a conducive working environment in terms of exposure. Management always enable junior working staff to attend committee meetings. We do not have office space for non-managerial staff hence the ambiance is more of a family orientated working environment. Everything is fast paced hence one is required to be on top of their game at all time.
Pros: Lots of exposure. one is given the opportunity to run with their own tasks.
Cons: lack of interconnection of division. silo mentality within division

Excellent
It's an excellent exciting job where you meet different kinds of people around the world and do customer service and get to know different kinds of languages and cultures. Very busy and tempting industry at the same time

Excellent opportunity to learn new industry and apply my banking knowledge to add value
My role was primarily intended to support the Business Development function in business pipeline building, competitor analysis, and ensuring a balanced risk-return matrix as the company embarks on an Africa growth strategy, I have managed to enhance my division's significance within the company.I managed to position the division not only as a Business Development support, but also a support to the core business of the company by providing insight analytics that enable bespoke commercial activities at the nine airports and play a lead role in enterprise risk management.
Pros: The aviation industry in South Africa remains untapped from commercial background viewpoint, thus offers opportunity to break ground
Cons: Being a state-owned entity, the pace of the much needed change in a forever evolving industry usually lags

Learnings
Working at Aiports company was fun and a learning experience for me.I got along very well with my co workers since im a team player,i am able to take orders and work well without any supervision.it was a good experience since i got to meet new people every day,from different parts of the world with different cultures and different believes.I've also learnt that in my position as passenger information agent i should treat all people equally regardless of their background,nationality or cultures.all passengers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.I have also learnt to become a very good listener and go give attention to smalldetails.In a nut shell ive learnt to embrace that we live in a diverse world where we are all important and should be treated as such.

A great environment to gain experience
Resolving queries and motivating and encouraging employees to study further to develop themselves and improve their work performance, i have a good relationship with colleagues and share work together well with them to meet the objective of the organisation. I have learned to work under preasure and engage with people at all different literary level and be able to assit and resolve any learning and development issues.

Cons: Dealing with most employees with minimal literacy level

Great organisation to work for
I love that there is a lot of room for growth within this organisation and my department in particular. Never a dull moment. There is always something to do, unlike with my previous job, where one had to literally entertain themselves as there was no work to be done.

Excellenbt learning curve
I am hardworking person with ability to work under pressure. I am teamworker I have have interpersonal skill and learn to work diverse people from different cultural groups. I also have advanced Microsoft packages include Ms Word, Ms Excel , Ms Access, Ms Windows, Internet and e-mail programs
Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: 12 hour shift and working on weekends
