Amazon Reviews

I am currently looking for new opportunities and a completely different industry.

To whom it may concern, I am writing to inquire if you have any vacancies in your company. I enclose my CV for your information. As you can see, I have had extensive vacation work experience in office environments, the retail sector and service industries, giving me varied skills and the ability to work with many different types of people. I believe I could fit easily into your team. I am a conscientious person who works hard and pays attention to detail. I'm flexible, quick to pick up new skills and eager to learn from others. I also have lots of ideas and enthusiasm. I'm keen to work for a company with a great reputation and high profile like yours. I have excellent references and would be delighted to discuss any possible vacancy with you at your convenience. In case you do not have any suitable openings at the moment, I would be grateful if you would keep my CV on file for any future possibilities. Yours sincerely Mariam Davies

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion.
Cons: Shifts and long working hours

Constantly learning and reinventing myself.

A typical day would start off with broad smiles, greetings and of course strong coffee. I'd log on, check some emails, and begin working on complicated projects assigned to me and a few Team members. Projects would consist of researching large shipments for Sellers such as (Nike, Samsung) for Spain, UK, Italy, France and Germany and refunding where applicable (Current Position). These could take days. Hardly ever serious relationship with Co-workers but when we are serious it's very mentally stimulating conversations. I've learnt that nothing beats optimism in any situation and hard work in any situation. What I enjoy most is the Companies Brand as well as the people I get to surround myself with on a daily basis. Also the amount of things you can learn everyday.

Pros: Growth Oppurtunities
Cons: Rotating shifts.

Living, Working and Learning

at Amazon I have learned that customers are what an organisation is centred upon, I learnt how to prioritise them, etiquett, protocol and procedure. Personally it taught me how to handle many diverse people and personalities with tolerance and respect. At work I deal with Customer queries about products, electrical appliances, I ammend and capture details into their accounts as well. Keeping your emotions seperate from work is a challenge and this could be attributed to the nature of the work we do and my own nature. I enjoy engaging with people.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning and promotion and good incentives.
Cons: Working on holidays and weekends

Good character building dealing with customers in North America

My work requires a lot of patience with my customers whom are usualy frustrated that their devices dont work and would like us to troubleshoot them to help their issue get resolved. Calls vary from 5 minutes to over an hour depending on the type of customer that calls in. My co-workers are very friendly and open people who are always willing to help when a fellow colleague gets stuck. I have learnt a great deal about myself working at this company as they always encourage growth. I enjoy the warmth and friendliness of most of the staff that is involved with us and the benefits we receive at the company. My most challenging aspect is when we are unable to resolve the issue of the customer after spending much time on the issue.

Pros: Free transport for unsociable hours, Medical aid benefits, provident funds
Cons: very long hours in unsociable hours

Excellent working environment

Amazon is a great company to work for. It really feels like home away from home. You always feel like you want to be at work than to stay at home. The people are friendly, full of support amongst colleagues. There is a lot of development, training to upskill the employees. That creates lots of opportunity for growth. My colleagues were my strenght. I love people and to see them every morning was an uplifting of my day. The most challenge I had was the shifts.

Pros: Delopment of the employees
Cons: Shifts changes

Build International Networks.

When I get to work there is no tension the atmosphere is relaxed and remains that way during the course of the day. However everyone is very hardworking, but because the call center industry is not manual labor the general vibe is relaxed. My coworkers and I are very supportive of each other, everyone is eager to assist as this job flexes the brain everyday. I picked up a lot of skills here in terms of Microsoft packages and other programs. There are tons of perks working to Amazon. They the staff is down to earth and free food and vouchers are offered as incentives everyday. I've been working in a call center for 8 years and though Amazon is an absolutely amazing company I think leaving iiNet has taken some of my passion for call centers away.

Pros: Transparent, fast paced development.
Cons: No Night Shifts

Excellent learning curve

Wow ! Amazon is the best place to work at as its really looks after the staff even though Amazon is a customer eccentric company. What an amazing experience and 2nd to none so far. It provides great opportunity to grow in the business and complete ones studies. Management are fair and its an easy going environment with really smart people on the floor. Amazing people and really easy to get along with. I really enjoy the free internet it provides during breaks and the canteen with table tennis boards and "game shop" games like "Street Fighter" : ) The most challenging part of the job is the very reason why im looking to make a change is the n/shift. Even though it has its perks making extra income and the night crawlers (party animals) love this shift, I miss out on family at night and when I do get days off, its always out of sync with all of them. Other than that, this is an Amazing company to work with lots of activity to spice up our environments.

Pros: Study Incentives
Cons: Night Shfts
