It's truly a great company to train since you are exposed to a log of things

It's the only stainless steel manufacturing company in Africa, with some advanced technology and latest systems in place. It's a great place to train since they have almost every equipment serviced and repaired by its employees

Good learning curve, with limits

-good team -limits to what an enhance Fitter can or is able to do/have -no standby experience for enhance fitters -no license for crane or working at heights -no log out logs and tags for enhance Fitters -limited responsibilities

Pros: 50% chance of permanent employment

Taking care of the plant as it takes care of us.

Taking care of the plant as it takes care of us. Exposure to different fields including mechanical, metallurgy, IT. No restrictions to learn. interact with different systems. I believe in growth which makes me a better person in my career. I’m working for process plants that depend greatly on instrumentation, which makes my job a priority for production. My availability at any callout or breakdown affects the efficiency of production.

Pros: Limited under maintenance.

Excellent learning curve

Working at Columbus has been a great experience for me, because of the flexible three man shift I have started working I got to meet a lot of great people and friends who didnt only teach me about safety as a way of life but also discipline and being honest,I enjoy the challenges that come with my current job such as working with different shifts each week and I'd say the most challenging aspect would be not getting enough personal projects

A go getter.

Teams are getting a performance bonus every month on the 15th. Good inter departmental relationship. Work as team to achieve good yields. Work as a team to identify defects in time and solve them immediately. Good culture of Ubuntu company wide. Respect for an individuals. Have a challenge of new defects and be able to stop them. Every day is a new day with customer requirements and needs.

Cons: Teams in the plant are working a 3 shift cycle - a forward rotation cycle

Excellent learning carve

Working at Columbus as a section controller preparing sample collection of samples from the plant,enjoy working with my team ,working shifts,enjoy working morning shift, the !most challenging part is working night shift. Learned a lot about quality

Professional work environment, innovative, mature systems, learning every day, interesting.
