I've learned how to communicate with different people

CSIR is the best place to work in. very friendly environment even the people , they are so welcoming and always full of smiles. I mostly enjoy working asit is very challenging and i learn new things daily. I've learned not to beat myself up when i've made mistakes. there only thing to do is to just accept and learn form the mistakes. The job is very time demanding and needs one to coomunicate well with people.

Pros: Great opportunity for permanent employment
Cons: There are really no disadvantages except for working 8 hours for me its too much

Learned a lot of skills and competencies. Gained a lot of confidence and potential.

A typical day at work is assisting employees with their queries, emails and calls and taking calls from outside companies of confirmation of employment. I am responsible for handling a group of approximately 600 people in a unit called DPSS. I have a very good relationship with colleagues and friends at work. I have learnt a lot of policies and procedures that are followed in the profession of HR. I have also learnt a lot about emotional intelligence as it is very important when you work with a lot of different people with different characters. I enjoy doing a lot of strategic work. The most challenging aspect of my job disappointing people when they do not understand certain guidelines of our jobs that might us into not being able t help them, for example when employee wants you to assist them using their personal employee addresses and there are ACTS that restrict us from doing so.

Pros: Punctual, do not procrastinate, people orientated and acquire emotional intelligence
Cons: I do not like isolation and discrimination in work

Too much red tape

The organisation has capable individuals to manage the day to day functions. However, the hierarchical structures result in too much delay, loss of sales and damage to reputation due to management favoritism and ignoring urgent matters based on which level a staff member is requesting their approval. Creativity also gets stifled by management and they tend to make enemies of their subordinates rather than work with them. Most functions become counter productive as a result. There's a high number of staff turnover, also driven by senior management's outlook on junior staff. The organisation is an excellent one, but needs its management to treat staff well rather than looking down on them. There is a lot of potential that can be harnessed only if egos can be set aside and for a change staff get get on with the business and reason for existence of the organisation.

Pros: Flexi time
Cons: Limited opportunity for growth

Project manager

A typical working day requires quick and creative thinking, flexibility, tolerance and multi-tasking skills. I have a close relationship with my co-workers because I take time to listen to their point of view, and then I seek to work out a collaborative solution. I have learnt to work with different units across the organisation. Coordinate resources, solve conflict and minimize risks and meet deadlines. I have also taken measures to ensure that deadlines are met. The most challenging aspects of my current job is trying to manage resources for which you have no power. As hard as it is to tell someone they have to work through the night, it is infinitely harder to hear "no,I don't work beyond 18:00" Escalating to the person's manager is usually effective, but it sure makes working conditions sticky going forward.

Pros: Career growth
Cons: Relocating
