Monitoring of progress on any task given.Verify monthly paper work submitted to me and close work orders and file.Ensuring sound management of material and time.Monitor time taken for each task given.Record kilos travelled with fleet vehicles. Monitoring & ensuring there is no irregular, unauthorized, wasteful & fruitless expenditure.

ESKOM IN MY LINE OF DUTIE IS A START FOR ME SINCEWELL WANT TO FOCUS IN MORE ADVANCED MACHINARY
MY WORK ON DAILY BASIS IS MAINTAINING NETWORKS, HIGH VOLTAGE NETWORK STARTING FROM 88KV- 220V DOMESTIC THOSE INCLUDES TRANSFORMERS 500KVA-16KVA AND FAULT FINDING IS OUR NUMBER KEY IN FINDING THE PROBLEM AND TWO IS ANALYZING THE RISK INVOLVED. AND THE RELATIONSHIP WITH MY COLLEAGUE IS EXCELLENT BECAUSE OUR LIVES DEPENDS ON EACH OTHERS HANDS AND ACTIONS. WHAT I LEARNED AND ENJOY MOST IS SENSATIONALIZING OR THE STEPS WE USE TO FIND THE FAULTS ON OUR NETWORK AND THE BAUTITY THATS COMES WITH WIRING, REPAIRING THE FAULT AND THE SMILE WE GIVE TO OUR COSTUMERS AND FROM MY SIDE THE CHALLENGE I HAVE AT WORK IS WORKING WITHOUT PROPER TOOLS OR HAVING SHORTAGE OF EQUIPMENT N MATERIAL BECAUSE IS RISKING AND LIFE THREATENING AND CAN ALSO LEAD TO DAMAGE OF EQUIPMENT..

My time working at Eskom was a learning curve for me.
A typical work day was goingto the office every morning to get job orders from the dispatch then go to site. Eskom encourages team work because almost everything is done with a work partner or in a group - I have learnt that safety is important as you work with live electricity. - I enjoyed everything about working at eskom and the most department I enjoyed working were metering and telecontrol. - Testing an equipment was a challenge because you cannot just assume that a certain part is faulty.
Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Taking too many learners and not be able to appoint them permanently.

Excellent
Build,repair,maintain all HV,MV,LV overhead and underground cable networks. Monthly substation inspections and infrared scanning for preventitive maintenance. Monthly safety inspections and updating safety files. Standby duties. Cable fault location using thumper. Good relationship with all staff members.

Amazing Growth Path
My normal day starts with a teleconference with my subordinates at various sites, at Medupi, Ingula, Kusile, Majuba Rail and Duvha Power Stations. we do a review of the previous week then develop a weekly stakeholders engagement plan. I managed a team of 15 competent managers and I have a good professional working relationship with them. My position is fulfilling because each day has its own dynamics. I spend most of my days meeting with various stakeholders such as government, media, business chambers and organized labour associations to engage and discuss matters of mutual interest regarding the Eskom New Build projects. the most challenging aspect of my job is the demands from the stakeholders. working for this area in the business, which has a budget of over R350 billion comes with its own challenges and expectations from stakeholders.

Working condition
My current job is challenging in a sense that due to the fact that i work outside as the nature of work requires me to maintaining overhead power lines ,under ground cables weather condition are often difficult aspecially in summer where there is alot of rain but having a good team that i work with makes things a little easier as we always working together helping each other fault finding at night in the rain and so forth.i have learnt alot in my current job working without supervision is the key thing i have learnt and mastered which keeps me motivated and going strong every day.
Pros: most important is safety is key and safety is number one
Cons: yes long hours are sumtimes a problem bht it does not happen every day

Fast learner, leader, team player,
I have a vast experience in mechanical and electrotechnological engineering in construction, commissioning and maintenance of heavy industrial machinery. I have done condition monitoring, plant reliability, incidence investigations, safety, project supervision and etc. I hold a diploma in project management, certificate in engineering, a professional certificate with ECSA and I am a fitter and Tuner Machinist. Every day we do toolbox talk before any job. I like to work as a team. Together work becomes lighter, and every one is not isolated, having a strong backup. I enjoy seeing every one confident. Pushing each other for work is challenging.
Pros: One must go an extra mile, to achieve ones goal.
Cons: Working to finish when the jobs is too far from finishing.
