Hollard Insurance Reviews

Excellent Learning Curve

I am currently working as an Underwriter at the Hollard Insurance Company. My role is to provide Underwriting support to Account Executives with regards to 1. New Business 2. Renewals 3. Quotations 4. Reinsurance 5. Broker Relationship Management 6.Policy Administration I enjoy risk analysis and assessment and managing relationships with brokers. I have learnt that the role of an Underwriter in the present time has shifted from being a pure technical role, it now encompasses customer/broker relationship management , business development and account management. The most challenging aspect of my job as a young underwriter is to make a pitch for experienced and senior insurance brokers whilst trying to overcome the age discrimination factor.

Pros: Great opportunities to develop. My current employer runs formal training programmes
Cons: Being limited to a specific class of insurance

I am kind person who is willing to learn new things, who enjoys to work with other people

I am good team worker and I am able to work under pressure by meeting tough deadlines, which keeps me motivated. I work with enthusiasm, I am very dynamic person embraces the change and adapts very well and very patient. I have just completed my practical workplace experience and ready to explore into the workplace and am currently Credit Controller at Hollard Insurance Company. I am responsible in every area of my key performance, and I believe I would fit well into the company’s team and contribute to the ongoing success of the Company and I can work with less supervision.

Pros: GREAT OPPORTUNITY
Cons: LONG WORKING HOURS

Great industry to start in the working field

I work 4 hours in a day with a target of 3 sales a day. The company has a great company culture and has very lively people to work with. Working conditions are great, when there are proper leads that is.

Pros: Flexible working hours and a great company culture
Cons: The lack of leads

Insightful and challenging.

Its just another day at the office, mostly data capturing from field apps but sales are a necessity.A lot to learn about compliance and clients behavior all the laws that governs the system but very exciting and insightful.Friendly colleagues, challenging working conditions though, because we deal with lots of customer related issues and people will always react differently to same issues.I enjoy reaching my targets it makes me happy to reap the benefits of hard work and dedication and it grows my confidence and makes me try even harder the following month.Competition also gives us a good time because naturally human to wanna win.

Pros: An opportunity to make money
Cons: Impossible targets

Hollard Insurance

At my previous workplace , everyday was a day where you wanted to get up to go to work as it felt like you were going to be around loved ones, the atmosphere felt like a family gathering. A typical work day was arrive early get coffee and even though work began at 8 am, you would immediately begin your work as it had nothing to do with time, it was all about making sure the work stayed at a minimal. Days when the call center was busy, I would jump in and assist as best as I could, to keep the A-rate bellow 10%. The call center easily received 700+ calls a day. I have learnt that a skill is something important in life and that it is what one will never be able to learn from a book. Challenges began when I had to learn about how the company operated as it was my first time in corporate, but none the less I stressed I pushed myself and about a month later is was able to do the work set for me everyday.

Pros: We learnt how to be multi-skilled
Cons: Stress of not being able to always do everything in a day

The company has a great culture implemented with its staff in mind

Working at Hollard has been a great learning experience. What started as a short term way to make money while studying turned out to be a great opportunity to learn and grow in the workplace. Hollard is a company that believes in individual growth and enrichment, it is because of this that I was able to grow and move to different positions in the company in the two years I was there. Hollard provides a great working environment for its staff with a great balance of work and a bit of play. The culture of the company is laid back yet firm, management believes in keeping employees happy as a way to increase productivity. My time at Hollard has truly been an adventure and a great learning experience, I would recommend anyone to join Hollard

Pros: Opportunity for growth
Cons: Late shift ends at 8pm so transport could be a problem

What does "enter your review title" mean?

Very loud and undisciplined - from management (not all of course) down to tea ladies, cleaners and canteen staff. If you like that type of environment, then it's heaven working here.

Pros: Attractive campus set on a mountainside.
Cons: Loud, loud, loud company. No noise sensitivity here at all.

Excellent learning curve

The promotional packages to employees are confusing because as a team leader you are below the area manager and in actuall fact we expect the packages to be totally different. so I will say that was my downfall within the company because I started as a team leader, applied for the area managerial position got it after six months it was confusing because I had to step doen as an area manager.

Pros: Great opportunies but not in writing
Cons: Not enough time to details
