Lancet Laboratories Reviews

Diligent Working plan

I ran the day to day operation of the department. The day starts with the strategic planning where i outline what is ahead for the day and allocate differrent tasks to staff. At 14h00 we assemble for review to check if all the tasks he been completed and map out way forward I have a good working relationship with staff and co workers I enjoy the challenges that come with the Job. The most challenging aspect is the urgency in my work environment. This is a pathology environment where Pathologists are urgently awaiting for the output with the output being results for tests conducted at the Labs. The Labs wont fuction properly if certain steps in the warehouse are actioned with caution

Pros: Started right at the bottom and worked my way up
Cons: No long hours we work a 8 hour shift even though the environment operates 24hours so every task has to be completed with 8hoirs

Personal Growth

Learning how to effectively work with a variety of employees and managers. Working with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds, generations, tenure within the company, etc. Taking the time to listen and consciously observe others paying close attention to preferred communication styles, personality types, etc.. trying my best to approach every situation as a learning opportunity and value the unique differences while always remaining respectful. When starting a new position I could encounter a number of challenges. A normal challenge would be the learning curve. So, having to get acclimated to new people, supervisor, processes, systems, environment and in learning the business/product. In my opinion, I believe the greatest challenge following that would be in understanding the unique needs of your customer and how you can effectively meet their needs. I would say flexibility is the key and always keep an open mind for learning.

Pros: Personal Growth
Cons: Acknowledgement

Great experience gained

I was based in an area that was always busy no matter what time of day it was. We all work together as a team to try and do as much as we could so nothing is left for the night staff admin when he/she arrives. I built a great relationship with each and every person I worked with. They were easy to talk to, always willing to lend a helping hand and always happy. I have learnt to be a stronger person and take things as it comes. Take things one step at a time and in the end it will all work out. Always be happy and don't involve anyone in your personal life. Whatever you going through remain strong and believe in the almighty. I believe that most challenging part is that the patient is always right no matter what. Dealing with difficult patients that dont allow you to explain but rather walk over you and want to be right.

Pros: Good company to work for
Cons: Odd working hours

Learning curve

I love working for Lancet and I love my job. I am a well-spoken lady and a team player. I can also work on my own without the supervision when I have to. I am capable of achieving high results when task given. I enjoy problem solving and queries. I'm good in following up with the queries. The lab has taught me to work under pressure, when working in the lab environment every second, minute and every hour is critical because the results are expected the minute the sample leave to come to us. I have a good relationship with my co-workers. Respect is the key to a good relationship in a workplace. I have learnt to not take things at heart, I have learnt to be patience, I have learnt to not judge. The most challenging aspect of my job was for me getting home late and sometimes I don't get to see my kids. I leave early and come back late because of the 12 hours shift.

Pros: I can handle any challenges
Cons: There isn't growth and long hours.

I have a positive attitude which makes me see positivity where some might have given up. I am time cautious and well focused therefore have leant to plan my things so I don't find myself stranded. Working in a laboratory has given me knowledge of the meditech systems and taught me to deal with different individuals of different backgrounds. This had taught me to be a hood listener and therefore being able to come up with quick solutions of positive outcome whenever a challenge comes up.

It is a good learning experience, too different from working af the clinics .Shift leading and student coaching is challenging but fun as well.Having to deal with diverse cultures has also taught me a lot.
