Its good experience working as ship electrician
It has been good 14 years although there is those days where it does not go so well,but fixing and repairing of electrical machinery making sure that the ship sails safeley and coming back with minor problems.

A good company to work at
SA navy it's a good company to to work at with a great learning opportunities however after you are qualified you don't get exposure to what you are trained to do and withs great team building colleagues

Good learning curve
It's a company that concentrate to much on your discipline as well as time management. And there's time where you have to work under pressure with different characters of people which was not a problem for as I am a team player.

Good experience
Excellent perks but low salary and no change for promotion. Good opportunity for learning and gaining experience. Long period of down time with no equipment or spares to repair or replace broken or defective equipment.

A good learning environment
Im currently working as a fitter onboard the ship and doing maitenance and repairs as per servicing schedule as well as operating system according to Sop,i work very well with my volleagues,i have learned a lots in this department because now i can do job without supervision as fitter,the most challenging about this job is that we work hard especially when we are at sea because everyone is looking at mechanical and electrical department for the ship to move.
Pros: the only time for you to get promotion in our department is for you to work torwards it because there is always a certain qualification for each rank
Cons: 24 hours overtime according to rotation amongst duty mechanician.

Good working hours and culture
Fantastic hours you can manage personal life well. Reasonable salary and balance of studying and helping others self develop in career. Understanding management who is always there for you. Wonderfull arrangements to have time to go gym or go for a daily jog.
