Gained excellent experience

I concentrated on the Banking ( Post Bank) side of the Post Offices. Post Bank had a clientele of 6 million customers of which 90% were of the mass market. A Post Bank branch was in every Post Offices .There were 1500 outlets. Campaigns were run in all Retail outlets , activation`s at Malls. exhibitions and events, etc.. the most challenging aspect of my job was to give excellent customer service. I enjoyed advertising, getting involved with - ATL -TV commercials, Radio , Print and Bill Board ads. BTL- instore promotions, Posters, leaflets etc...

Pros: massive and diverse company
Cons: not a great opportunity for promotions

My tenure as an employee in the S.A. Post office

Working for the S.A Post office holding the mentioned critical positions has been interesting and eye opening. On a daily basis one would wake up to meeting both internal and external clients, either by formal meetings or attending to queries both telephonically and in an arranged meeting. Honouring scheduled and ad hoc staff and clients meetings to address and ensuring the efficient running of the office. Self discipline, adherence to company policies and procedures, respect and taking pride to the job has made it seem easy though challenging. People management and interaction at different levels has been the most challenging aspect of the job, but interesting. Opportunities for further studies for all employees has been preached and practised in the company.

Pros: I have experienced great and numerous opportunities by being promoted to higher level positions on merit and secondments to running projects.
Cons: The exposure to the higher level positions and commitment to the job, has on many occasions resulted in working long hours, leading to sometimes missing out on important personal aspects of ones life.

I'm the people's person who like team work in workplace. The Post office they game that opportunity develop my knowledge by - I was given busary as a result I have completed my 3 year degree in 2015. I'm intended to study towards my honours the year ; I havecapplied for busary in order to proceed with my studies What I enjoy the most it to inter- act with internal & external customers on dailly basis; resolving customer complaints; resolving conflict among staff The challenging part is the "resources" that's not available it does have negative impact to our customers

Good company to explore Investigation

Security and investigations is too challenging in this company as we have too little limited days to complete/finalize cases. Colleagues personally hate Investigation officers for crimes they commit. I have learnt a lot in this company and had broaden my mind in terms of Investigation. Writing skills regarding reports and managing staff are some of the skills I learnt. Cyber crimes are some of the crimes I learnt to investigate here. I mostly enjoy the traveling when doing most of my work in the field unlike Office administration.

Learn to work with diverse people but meet with one common goal

First line of contact between customer and company, to ensure compliance of all procedures, by minimising risks and maximising profit. Schedule and unscheduled audits daily, weekly and monthly are conducted and determined through trend and requency analysis. Management of all resources through management system. Control of daily, weekly and monthly budget through SAP SYSTEM. As Chairperson of Cross Functional Regional Team, it is important to increase business by ensuring customer satisfaction and continous improvement on all processes and maintain delivery standards.

Excellent learning curve

Roll out of all new branches, upgrading and relocation of existing offices, Property and Lease administration. I am managing projects on a turn key basis from conception up to hand-over. Managing project managers and contractors. Evaluating BOQ and tenders.

The company does provide the necessary learning means required.

My responsibilities include among others Stock management, where I have to control stock, including monthly stock takings and keeping it safe at all times. This for me enjoyable because is a schedule I am used to do. Courses like Customer service taught me how to relate and socialise with internal and external clients.

Pros: The company offers greater opportunity for promotion
Cons: Normal working hours are provided, One only has to overstay at work due to the amount of work load/pressure

Excellent learning curve

Its not a typical work day as there are loads of challenges in regards to our products/services offering in the current day. However, dealing with these challenges, further develops my interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills. I have an opportunity to deal with colleagues closely and daily as our functions are interlinked, so this built good relationships amongst us. I have learnt people skills, due to my company's current challenges my problem solving and analytical skills were polished. I do enjoy bringing solutions to problems, proving good customer service is my passion. The biggest challenge is not having stock to sell and not providing proper service to our clients.

Leading, organising,controlling and motivating

Receiving, sorting of mail, stork ordering and accepting of Deposits and withdrawals, bill pàyments and also to redeem cheque into cash. Insuring that work activities are being done accurately for the success of the company. Learning thatTime management is what is most important not to delay clients with service. Paying more attention that is to presented to clients or company management. Being honest to team members to generate ideas to make work much easier. That when we work jointly with understanding of others differences helps to build a strong working relationships. Building a perfect relationship with clients is what a value. Problem solving in challenges to come up with strategies to overcome the obstacles. The use of creative thinking. The pressure of work when these shortage of workers. Dealing with difficult clients.

Cons: To improve my skills and experience, providing the company with the excellence of working together to achieve showing that I'm the asset.

Learning about customer service

I love working with people, networking with customers,making sure I am knowledgeable about product and service. I enjoy myself alot meeting new face and loyal customers everytime, creating that relationship with them, and also to create good working relationship with my colleague. I have learned alot about customer service, cross selling, and up selling the product and service, and how to be professional about it.
