SAA Reviews

The exposure is great, however currently the employee morale is at its lowest

Due to costs cutting, one ends up working 16 hours a day, seven days a week. Covering work of positions that were not filled . Being in the front line of operations, one is constantly on the phone throughout the day and over weekends. We don’t have time to attend to soft skills courses anymore and this become a hindrance to the teams performance especially with the changes that are implemented on a monthly basis

Pros: I am exposed to different working cultures across the globe. The projects that i have delivered from diffrent countries are a an experience to tressure
Cons: Due to human capital shortages within my section, as a manager you end up working long hours and throughout the weekend, the two employees I have plus the service providers across the network makes it more challenging to get the correct service expected from the company of our size from our clients

Excellent Career Path

A highly focused Aviation Duty Manager has terrific abilities to read flight plans and analyze and interpret flight data. Highly analytical and understands flight paths and scheduling, with eighteen years Aviation experience I am extremely detail-oriented and focused. Able to analyze and interpret weather reports, excellent record-keeping abilities, strong computer and math skills. Good interpersonal and communication abilities. Equally effective at providing support to management, neat, well-groomed and polished.

Pros: Great company to work for
Cons: none

A good company to start a career in aviation

Top class customer care and problem solving skills. Africa's airline of choice for decades. One learned to save company's resources in order to save money for relevant things, that if u don't save the resources company might run at a loss and retrench. I enjoyed reflexible hours when i started however as my family grew. It's started catching up with me. Co workers were pleasant and everyone worked well with one another. Changes were always unpleasant as sometime we felt they were not explained thoughtfully. However in time one embraced change.

Pros: Bursary oppotunities
Cons: Lack of growth

Excellent industry exposure

I meet tight deadlines and enjoy dealing with challenges. The aviation and the banking sector provided the insight for a financial manager to contribute effectively

Pros: introduced to a challenging industry which i was able to contribute to positively and make a difference in my own way
Cons: Business unprofitable due to legacy debt and more reputation management

It made me who I am

Instability among executives makes it an unstable environment but it gave me opportunitis I would never have had before. I was involved in all projects within operations and especially the turn around. It would be great to witness the turnaround and success being able to make a difference is great.

Pros: big company many learning opportunities
Cons: political influence

Duties of International Flight Attendant

I would report for duty on any given day rostered , one hour and fifteen minutes before departure. I would tak ecare of guests on all international regional and domestic flights and never knew who I was going to work with. I enjoyed the surprise of not knowing who I am working with and where I will be going next a. Most challenging was working with limited resources from service providers beyond our control.

Pros: Great remuneration and benefits
Cons: Long work hours and limited resources, limited growth opportunities
