What I've learned

Simba is a big company that produces potato chips and products. I specifically work on a Pc line where we are required to make 12000 tons of finished potato chips every day. We work Monday to Monday just to make sure our customers always have the best product on the shelves. The relationship i have with my team mates is amazing because we work well together, helping each other out and striving to get the job done. The challenges i have is when we have a demand and we have to run all different flavours at a short period of time. Luckily I've learned that if we work well together and hard we achieve the set goal. It's also nice to work with different people and different personalities.

Excellently learning curve

I'm self confident person who always believes in my abilities. I try by all means to responding positively when facing challeges wheather work related or in life general.

Pros: Great company to work for en it does take care of its workers specially when it comes to their development.
Cons: Branch level is not given enough attention.

MY ROLE

I work for a fast passed industry where we are constantly trying to make sale, reach volume and supply customers. With so much experience I am surrounded by co workers in different departments that I like to chit chat with every now and then just get alignment of our daily objectives. I learn something new every day with working in an open plan office space it is easy to ask for help and help others and I have learnt to ensure that I give help especially when I can. I enjoy the flexibility of my role and being able to work off site at times and of coarse I enjoy the benefit of the WIFI connection at the office. Some of the challenges that comes with my role is the demanding export client and long working hours that we put to ensure that we deliver Most of all I get to learn a lot in my role as I work with people of deferent functions that I get to undersnd (sales , logistics,planning,plant.frinance )

I am person who loves learning new things.

I am a hard working person who loves to learn new things, I have good working relationship with my fellow co-workers, since i have been working i have learnt a lot of things, I enjoy reaching targets and having solutions for challenges that i may be facing.

Pros: To further my studies and improve my life of living.
Cons: 8 hours during the week and 12 hours on weekends depending on the shifts.

Professional execution and delivery of value add

I'm a professional HR person with extensive experience across all disciplines in HR. I am a certified Kaizen Leader who won a sector award on a project selected for Kaizen leader. I have and still lead wage negotiations. I'm involved with succession planning and talent management and development strategies. In 2018 I led a project for Simba to comply with s198 of the LRA. The project entailed facilitation by CCMA. I also mapped and implemented an electronic control and management process for the utilisation of temporary labour.

Great development area

Great working exposure . There's always room for development through equipment training. Wonderful team always helping and giving out advice where applicable. It's an excellent place where you can learn how to do problem solving and minimize breakdown down time. I just enjoy fixing things and machining.

Thanks for an insightful

What I've learnt is that as a driver when we go to do a delivery at a certain retail store at the receiving you find different people with different personalities, some are ok and some are not, most of the big retailers I went I never spent less than 3 hours per store which makes it difficult for me to finish all the stores I have to do deliveries to in a day but that alone taught me to stay calm and go with the flow because these retailers don't work with the same pace oh should I say they don't use same procedure when receiving the stock. Being a driver you learn on the road few things from other drivers because we don't drive the same, I've been always diving a small car and told myself that I have small chances to be on the truck but luckily God opened the door for me to try one and it all went well thanks to Blu the agency.

Great place to learn about production

The place has a good learning environment but lacks team building techniques. Job is frustrating because the main focus is pushing production even when there are some safety risks. I've learnt to work with different characters and personalities
