Now I am a qualified Artisan Boilermaker from Shukela Training Center, currently working as a Trainee Artisan Boilermaker at Umgeni Water Mkondeni (Civil Workshop) from 09 October 2015 and I have Level 3 in Bricklaying. I was Apprentice Boilermaker from 2013 March 04 to 2015 October 08 at Umgeni Water. I work under a various Departments namely; the Departments of Maintenance (Civil Workshop), where I maintain pipeline, chamber lids, and doing shutdowns and breakdown installing valves and maintain pipe line. I can weld using arc welding, CO2 gas welding, gas cutting and brazing. I also understand the need to be flexible and thus am able to support the last minute changes. I am well organized, highly motivated to accept responsibility and through in my approach to work. I’m very good in fabrication T-piece, bends, lobster back, and corn, Y-piece off centered pipes, drawing and structural steel.

Pros: THEY IS NO MUCH BOILERMAKING THATS WHY i WANT TO BE EXPOSED MORE IN BOILERMAKING
Cons: We work using job cards and make our customer happy all the time with supplying water in bulk to them

Perfectionist at what i do

Umgeni Water is a good company to work for, you are self driven as long as you meet your target and deadlines. Co workers are the greatest element in the success of the organization, as team efforts are what makes the business grow. division do not work in isolation. what makes my work exciting is that you never now what to expect from one day to the next, as there are those structured tasks and those that are adhoc. one has to be basically on your toes and be able to multi task between projects I enjoy working under pressure as It keeps you energized, being able to handle multiple projects at the same time and constantly working on new projects. Most challenging aspect is pleasing everyone

Pros: Excellent training ground
Cons: Healthy work environment

Excellent Learning curve and Growth

hi my name is Ndumiso Ngwazi, working at Umgeni at Umgeni water is very exciting and very uplifting because it's a very relaxed company but when it comes to delivering it is very excellent because the people of Umgeni Water work so hard and are very good at what they do and are ranked among one of the best companies to work for and I myself really enjoy my time here. there is never a dull day at Umgeni Water and I have learned so much within a minimum of a short space and I have grasped as much information as I could and I am quite happy with that. The most challenging part is when you have to deal with employees issues especially if they haven't been paid for their training requests, if their tuition fees have not been paid and so forth but other then that its great to work here in particular.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth and promotion in terms of being absorbed more in the company for your hard work.
Cons: too much paper work
