L learned to work with different people of different cultures and also learnt to put a client first.

It is very warm and welcoming ,such a lovely environment of friendly people and working with students and colleagues of different cultures even international .I deal with students daily as a course coordinator and i maintain a friendly relationship with my colleagues .I have learnt different cultures ,norms an values. I enjoy providing a service to students by assisting them. The most challenging aspects of the job is dealing with students who are impatient.

Pros: The diverse culture
Cons: The job does not expose me to the logistics field.

Reached my ceiling

I am an accomplished individual who has been at the UJ for 13 years and I have extensive experience in the field of English writing - proofreading, editing, teaching and learning, etc. My day is often spent dealing with students either in a one-on-one situation or in workshops, where the writing process and all its facets are elucidated and exercised practically. I relate very well to my fellow workers, and enjoy the interaction, but also like to work on my own, especially in light of the fact that I need peace and quiet to work. The most challenging aspect of the job is to deal with an array of different people and to be able to assess their needs within a short period of time - but this I have also mastered. I feel I have reached my ceiling here and am looking for greener pastures to spread my wings and fly further!

Pros: Great holiday times
Cons: Hard work and very little reward or recognition

Excellent learning curve

Working in the university of Johannesburg has been rather challenging but the experience gained is second to non. Studying while working has helped me learn how to cope with massive work loads and work well under pressure and also work well with others. It has boosted my self confidence and helping students further understand their module has brought me greater joy.

Pros: Teamwork
Cons: Workload

Excellent learning curve in all industries

My typical work day consists of a lot of meetings with management. I love working with my team though it gets tricky but they are an amazing team to work with. I’ve learnt to delegate tasks, to work with a team, to set deadlines for my team.

Pros: Great opportunity for experience
Cons: Long working hours

Graduate seeking a challenge.

I am currently a first year MCom student at the University of Johannesburg and I am planning to complete my masters by the end of 2017. There seems to be great room for growth and I feel I can extend my knowledge and gain valuable practical skills by belonging to a company like yours. I am passionate about delivering results and working according to customer expectations, and would love to be a contributing member when I start at your company. My ability to work well with people and lead others has resulted in great success as a youth council member. One of my greatest accomplishments within the committee is initiating and driving a project focused on student well-being. I looked at inventive ways to acknowledge and resolve the communities concerns and fears in the area of workload and time management. The project was a great success and hopefully one that will continue into the future

Pros: Educating the youth is fulfilling
Cons: Not challenging enough

Excellent learning

I really loved working for my company because I had friendly and vibrant colleagues who also had a huge passion for what they were doing which motivated me everyday. I learned new things everyday and I learned how to work with people from diverse cultures. Communication is the most important key needed when you work with other people as it helps you understand the next person without judging them. A typical work day for me would be a little busy but managed to get everything done as my job required me to multitask and be able to work under pressure. Challenges I would face included having to deal with people who are uncooperative and impatient when trying to assist them. I learnt not to take such treatment personally but instead continue to give that person the best service they deserve.

Pros: It was a great working environment, the stuff was supporting and I learnt new things that will help me when I get another job.
Cons: Having most workers being absent on a busy day causing our services to be slow and lecturers being impatient.

Hard worker, patient with clients and easy to get along

I enjoy all aspects of my job especially helping clients to access databases, I have a good relationship with my co-workers as we have created a clear communication platform, I have learned team work and my only challenge is when I work alone and clients waiting for their turn.

Pros: I am a hard worker and open for promotion opportunities based on hard work and dedication
Cons: I usually work 8 hours and overtime when requested even on Saturdays.

Great experience

Office hours are from 08:00 to 16:00 which is never the case among myself and my colleagues as we often extend our working hours to ensure the success of our projects. I am the leader of a small marketing team with huge expectations from my line manager which we manage to achieve all the time through the unity among us. During my time at UJ I have have learned patience, as we are all different individuals from different backgrounds therefore we do not have the same perspective as everyone else. I enjoy the freedom to think out of the box and to try new things, because marketers are supposed to be innovative. The most Challenging part of my Job is that we are understaffed so we work under pressure all the time.

Pros: Perfect opportunity for mental growth
Cons: Not enough staff
