My current job

I enjoy my current job a lot. Helping students with their queries and seeing them walk away with their information needs being met gives me a great sense of joy. I make sure that I play my part as a librarian to provide them with the necessary information that they need in order to excel in their academic studies. This is the core of my job as a learning commons librarian.

Pros: Knowing that I make a small contribution to impacting someone else's future.
Cons: Long working hours

Physical suport

The company is catering students with education. Teaching and research is the core business of the company. Student participating in different activities, we as physical support and operation we are helping with carrying out the jobs that will make continue with their studies for example we are making sure that all electrical equipment are up to date, emergency, generators are ready in case there is a power failure

Pros: Our suport to the student is very important, it becomes very difficult for the university to run its daily work if there is no suport from us, so the people on top appreciate our contribution and treat us with respect for the output we are giving to the company.
Cons: Because we are comitted to serve, working normal hours is not that important on our line of work because some of the researches that are being done by the student are conducted at night where an emplyee is about to rest, but because the agreement that you signed with the employer binds you to work then you must do according to it. stand by and overtimes is something that we normally do.

Life changing opportunity

I rally loved my job, it gave me chance to interact with different stakeholder within the organisation including the external stakeholders. The most challenging issue is the expectation people have towards administrators.

Pros: Opportunity to improve oneself
Cons: Time management

Excellent building career

Working at University of johannesburg is a dream come true, waking up everyday knowing that you will change someone's future by providing the services with passion. I love working with my colleagues because everyday we always share ideas on how to keep up with work and how to handle pressure so we can become an effective team to achieve one goal, I have learnt so many things which includes, customer service, building a relationship with my colleagues, how to install and repair our resources. I'm so enthusiastic with helping people on how to get information they desire and helping both learners and lectures with the equipment they need to use in the venues....the most challenging aspect is when the power goes down makes our jobs to be difficult.

Pros: great building career structure
Cons: load shedding
