Great experience

I am a qualified tutor and able to deal with kids very well. I tutor Roedean, Kingsmead, St Johns and Parktown students currently on weekends. I would be a great au pair because I love children, am a safe driver and have the correct working hour availability.

A worthwhile postgraduate experience.

Work typically starts at 8 AM untril 5 PM. It involves reviewing journals, laboratory work, collecting and analyzing results. The office is set up in such a way that it encourages collaboration between members of the research group. I have gained valuable experience especially when it comes to various process units within metals processing. I myself focused on a leaching unit and an electro-winning unit. The greatest challenges were the lack of adequate equipment for laboratory work which resulted in me designing my own reactors.

Pros: Valuable experienced earned
Cons: Poor Remuneration

Exposure to leadership

I was given an opportunity to manage and enhancing my leadership by leading and guiding group of students. Mostly the people are nice and approachable. It gave me a bit of extra income during my MSc studying period. It also cemented my knowledge on the wide range of topics that I assisted on. Only drawback is that you work on an hour basis, if they don’t have work for you, you can’t work. Working with lecturers can be stressful

Pros: great opportunity to enhance your leadership and self-esteem
Cons: Being paid per semester

My experience has proved challenging but I always overcome and perform accordingly.

Working for Prosite Plan has been an experience because it’s opened me up to the architectural industry as well as the Supply chain management. It’s truly been a pleasure to be part of such an environment. My day to day consisted of office administration work and later I became introduced to the HRM sector which is my primary interest.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours
