Excellent Learning curve

Working at Actom is very good for someone who wanna kick start their career. It is an excellent learning and experience opportunity. I have learnt a lot about Manufacturing in this company. The only problem is long hours and working mostly on weekends.

Senior test tech with more than 6 years of experience in power electronics and electronics

My daily occupation is as follow. Testing and repairs batteries chargers. (Thyristors and mostfet) Assisting customers with FAT and SAT Testing of furnace panel that involve (3phase motor ,PLC ,VSD.TEMPERATURE SENSOR) Bench repairs of high frequency power suply,discharge unit (IGBT's) using oscilloscope. Assist new comers with training . Control board repairs to components level I learn deep PWM in control system Tuning the PID to meet customers spec. No more having any challenge because i have been doing the same thing over and over Sofwere programme use here is c and assembler

Pros: Very good please to work .but not much oportunity to grow. Old technology
Cons: Long working hours and too much overtime

Welder

It was a apprentice as a welder and also have 3 years experience as a mechanical fitter and basic rigging..... After appointed as a welder a have two years experience.. I work well under pressure and I'm that person who apply himself in everything I do..when it comes to my work a produce a sound weld and I'm reliable welder.

Yes it was a great learning curve the experience i got from there since i started

relationship with my co-workers was excellent we used to understand each other i learnt to work independently take some of the decisions ,running the MRP weekly place the orders then i know that my orders are placed i will just expedite when ever i need the parts i enjoyed that challenging aspect when the suppliers cannot deliver on time i had to make some other plans to get the parts from other vendors so the plant cannot stop production

Pros: i did not have a opportunity for promotions
Cons: no long hours

Excellent learning curve

Actom(Distribution Transformers) is an electrical company that manufacturers Distribution Transformers in different countries including South Africa. Actom also offer apprenticeship programs to youth.

Pros: Great opportunity since I have started as apprentice

Excellent learning curve

I am a hard working person. A person who applies himself in everything I do a person who knows how to meet deadlines in the business. I can also says I am a team player because the company that I am working for is continuously completing projects within deadlines.
