Working for NDPW
Working for NDPW has been a great experience. I have learned a lot in my field and have knowledge of other fields within the Department. Everyday is challenging and different, you have to take each day as it comes. I am working in an office where it is also busy and hectic, and where it is expected from us to meet deadlines from the Minister and the Director-General given at that specific day or time. The most challenging aspects of my job is when for example, community members or persons not invited to a meeting, ambush the meeting. We have to make sure that we communicate to people in a manner where they will listen and cooperate. What i enjoy at my work, is my colleagues. I have a good relationship with my colleagues.

Good interpersonal skill
I enjoy working in large and small group of people because I love the different ideas that are generated, as well as the quality of work created when multiple brains work together. I pay attention to all the details, and like to make sure that everything is right. Have ability to focus on my work, I'm not easily distracted my performance is very high even if I'm working in a busy office. My organizational skill in my previous administrative position, I restructured the office filling system to make it easier to access clients information quickly and efficiently.I'm able to keep things organized and neat so I can get more tasks completed in a shorter amount of time.Dealing with difficulty clients was the big challenge, but I learnt how to deal with difficult people, to handle such issues professional.

Duties: • Reconciliation of budget allocation on BAS. • Capture Sundry payment using BAS and Verify WCS Payments • Ensure that all debts are captured and authorized according to prescripts. • Manage all debtors internal and external debtors are informed of their debts. • Ensure proper record keeping of all debt documents. • Ensure PERSAL deductions relating to debt are captured and authorized daily to improve debt recovery within the organization. • Prepare monthly age analysis and debt status and report to ensure progress within the debt section

Excellent Exposure
A typical work day starts at 07:30 am. a Water Use Licence or Waste Management Licence Application is assessed and a summary of the application drafted and submitted to supervisor. The senior officials will then decide to issue a Water Use Licence or not to. Assessment of one licence can take about one to two months before issuing a licence to the applicant. The relationship with co-workers is very beautiful, they are willing to transfer the knowledge and skills and always available to assist. I have learned to be patient. I enjoy to see people taking responsibility on protecting water resources. Too much travelling, sometimes have to leave family on a Sunday in order to be in another province on a Monday morning to start working.
