Excellent Culture

Distell has a great culture and strives to be a high performance company. I have learned the importance of networking and customer relationships in a very volatile market. I enjoy working in the sales environment because I have a passion for people and it gives me the opportunity to meet and interact with many different people.

Fast pace environment

It's exciting and fast paced. Regular customer interactions. Advising and holding commercial discussions with customers. Regular deadlines and a pressurised environment.

Challenging environment

Lots of growth and learning opportunties daily changing fast pace environment . Challenges are the balance between meeting and daily role activities. Learning is on going as the shared service environment grows and matures. Fast pace and high stress environment

Looking to get back into accountant industry

Distell is going through a restructuring. Instead of being retrenched i were offered to procure to pay coordinator position. I took the job with the hope of future growth opportunity, but with Distell going into the next phase of restructuring a might be in the group of people up for retrenchment again. My passion is doing accounting and taxation work and my current position is fulltime data capturing

Conservative company

Typical large company. Unfortunately many restructures have led to mistrust of the employees of management. To get anywhere in Distell, you have to be an ex SAP employee. Also, an abnormally large percentage of new employee placements are ex SAB

Pros: You get a liquor allowance as part of the package. Good work life balance
Cons: Annual increases are ridiculously small

Excellent

My typical work day is always full as I have 10 lines to support. my relationship with workers is good. I have learnt the sense od being independent, I enjoy to plan for Annual Shuts. the challenging part is when I planned foe a day shut and I will be told that we to run production.
